I got the boy out and ran back in one last time, one think on my mind
'Nico Nico find your Prince!!'
The smoke was thicker then ever now
I looked at the different colored flames
Little heat is coming from the light fire...
It pulled toward me as if reading my thoughts...
'Hey...I'm the mind reader here'
it flicked angrily at me
'Okay Okay'
I followed the trail of flames to a room with my prince unconscious on the floor
"Nico!!" I screamed rushing to his side
I did the natural thing
I checked for a pulse
Faint but there
I was so focused on Nico I didn't even see the message on the wall
'We have your king' in what I hoped not to be blood...but it smelled like it
I quickly picked up Nico and rushed out of the building
the fire stopped as soon as I got out...literally
I took one step out and the whole place went out like a birthday candle...
I looked around and saw that the whole camp was watching me...
Then remembered why
Nico had been knocked out and was in my arms...
"someone help him!" I yelled pointing out the obvious
three of my "brothers" came forward but I didn't let go of Nico
I couldn't...
I set him down gently on the ground as the boys rushed around him checking for wounds and his heart beat
I didn't say a word and held my breath hoping to pass out and wake up in a cold sweat in my bed and say 'it's just a dream' like every other day
I would take a bath then go to breakfast,and after go to the woods to gossip with the nymphs about possible couples. I would train with Percy and after I won, laugh as he complained that I must have cheated some how.
The Ares cabin giving me death glares as I walked past them. Hang out with Nico by the lake giving him private lessons with the bow(he is horrible with a bow) and laugh as he miss shot and swore in Italian and Greek, remembering the old times when I taught him Italian
last, at night I would skip dinner and eat with Nico and Claws at my cave and always compare how Nico and Claws ate like animals and some times if we had time we would watch a movie I paid the Stolls to get for me.
Nico would some times pass out on the couch and I would cover him with a blanket and place a small kiss on his cheek like I did so long ago when his mother died...Then of course ignore Claws comments of 'you love him still' or 'your not his mother' and so on, go to bed have a nightmare and the cycle goes on..
but it didn't ..it never does...
this was real..Nico might be dead or dying, Riley was gone and most likely in horrible pain, and I was alone again....the two most important people in my life gone...taken from me...and Bianca....
'drip'
I was crying..
I watched as the tear fell and landed on Nico's cheek
I felt fear running through me
my tears burn hotter then the sun....pure heat sums me up pretty good
I thought his skin would burn.....but... nothing happened
I watched as the tear steamed and a cloud of red smoke appered, no one seemed to notice it but me
My vision started to blur but I didn't care
Heat...Nico was absorbing heat
Nico inhaled the smoke and I saw a wide cut on his head heal itself in seconds
The old Nico..my Nico would do that to heal himself and I did that to...after all I was pure heat
It's a long story to how Nico could do that and now wasn't the time to explain as people watched his wounds mend themselves
Nico shot up nearly missing me
He yelled for a moment and looked around
"Wa-what? Where am I?" He looked terrified
He held his head in pain
"Ow.."
I was over joyed at the moment than started breathing heavily
'I was still holding my breath?'
"Get him to the infirmary!" a voice yelled
"No need" Will said walking up to Nico
"He's fine.."
Will reached down and felt Nico's forehead
"Ow!" He said as soon as he touched Nico skin
"Your burning " he said looking at the new blister on his finger
"He just came out of a fire" I said pointing out the obvious
Will ignored me but Nico looked at me with fear-filled eyes
"What?" He asking and looked behind me at the half burned down building
"a Fire?"
"Yes but your ok now" I said in a calm tone as Will and the others decided if Nico would spend the night at the infirmary or not
He nodded but didn't say a word
A gave his arm a reassuring squeeze making him look at me
"Hey, how about I stay at the infirmary with you? "
"No you need to sleep"
"So do you, and i'm sure they will want to hear what happened"
He gave me a grateful look
"You won't leave my side? Just for tonight?" He said with a smile
I hesitated regretting what I was about to say
"I..I promise "
