Currently, she was using her database to begin making the backbones of her programs. She also used it to do meaningless tasks such as watching the news on the train, checking the weather when her phone or laptop was out of battery, or her favorite pass time: listen in on the various bugs she placed around the port town and send in anonymous tips to the ADA, where only one person knew about her gift.

Unfortunately, without the use of her database, her power was much harder to use. She couldn't remember every code that worked and didn't work, and it oftentimes had strange consequences.

She might try to use copy and paste without the database's guidance, and end up using Firewall... or worse... execute.

"I'm going to starve... I'm going to die..."

She was pulled from her coding as one of her bugs triggered an alert in her database.   An emergency phrase had triggered the warning in her system and automatically stopped the music she listened to.  If it was starvation, she could help someone out with that, but sometimes her bugs picked up pleas for help.

Regardless, everytime she heard someone in need, her odd sense of concern was going to convince her to act on it.

"Code: Locate."

The screen shifted from a list of codes to a small map with a blinking dot. The signal came from one of her bugs by a pedestrian bridge that passes over one of the canals on the south-east side of town.

"Hmm, it's not far from here either, must be fate?"

She smiled softly to herself before changing her course to a new destination, she was now heading to the sad voice that was coming over her bug. Her music was no longer playing, only the voice, who was conveniently talking to themselves like a crazy person, was being relayed through the earbuds in her ears,

"I'm gonna die... of hunger... Die in a ditch? I'm gonna live no matter what! B-but, I can't just rob someone..."

She turned a corner before seeing a bridge off in the distance. She looked back at the small map on her database before smiling softly to herself and muttering, "At least he's not being mugged, just thinking about doing the mugging."

She continued on her way to the bridge, she listened to his conversation evolve from wishing for food to building confidence up to... wait, he was trying to build up the confidence to rob someone who passed by him?  Who sikes themselves up for that...

Not long after, she saw a younger boy with choppy white hair in tattered clothes talking to himself underneath a footbridge that crosses a river canal. She quietly walked up to the younger boy who was still trying to convince himself that he could indeed rob someone.

She couldn't help the smile on her face as she tried to not laugh at the boy. She could tell by his attire that he was at least homeless, but the plain pyjamma like outfit screamed he was an orphan, just like she was before her accident.

The poor kid-- well the poor teenager-- had said he was kicked out of his orphanage though, how strange. Most orphanages didn't expel children, not even the one she had been in had kicked her out until her accident, and she was a problem child...

But, that was also the same time she'd been adopted and she gained control of her ability with help from a certain man.

She had finally gotten close enough to the boy to be right behind him before he exclaimed, "Alright! I'm going to steal from whoever comes by me next!"

She laughed at his enthusiasm which startled him before she giggled out, "I hope you won't steal from me.  After all, I came here to give you a hand, or a meal at least."
