The Frenchman waved you off in allaying tone. "Don't worry about it, that guy was being an asshole." He spat off to the side adding in one final scoff. "Useless cop."
Sensing the need for a shift in atmosphere, Mr. Joestar made a wild hand gesture easing himself into his next interlude. "Soooo. Haha! Now that that's out of the way. Who's to argue with getting some actual rest? No one? Good! I'm going to find us a hotel to stay at for the next day or two to recuperate and plan our next route."
*-----*
As it turned out, Mr. Joestar's method of finding a hotel was to walk in the direction of the largest buildings in the skyline until he saw some posh place with a word on the outside resembling 'resort' or 'hotel'. Regardless, within the hour you were standing in the lobby of the most decorated building you have ever seen.
Your jaw dropped when you looked around the men in front of you to get a full view of the area. Holy shit, this place is fancy. You looked around and then down at yourself, clothed in a depressed combination of dirt and rags. A sudden weight bared down on your shoulders with the realization of how out of place you seemed. Someone like me definitely does not belong in a place like this...
You shook your head to draw your mind out of its dejected stupor to realize the rest of the group has already moved over to the reception desk. By the time you weaved your way over, Mr. Joestar was deep into negotiations with the woman behind the desk.
"I'm sorry sir, but this season we are already fairly full. I cannot guarantee I can find you all rooms."
Feeling a compulsory need to mitigate the situation, you walked over and tapped on Mr. Joestar's shoulder, drawing his attention. "Uhm... If it makes things easier, I have no problems staying outside. You guys can just grab me when you are headed out in the-"
"What?! (Y/N), no. You are part of this group now. At least let me treat you like the rest of us. I'm not letting anyone sleep alone on the streets, that's ridiculous." He turned back to receptionist. "Three rooms, ma'am, that's all I need you to find for us."
"Okay. They won't all be next to one another, is that alright?"
"Not like we have a choice, eh?" He joked and picked up three sets of keys from the desk. "Everyone get over here. I've got three keys for three rooms, so we are all going to have to pair up. Avdol and I will room together so we can continue discussing our route. The rest of you need to decide for yourselves."
Kakyoin spoke next. "Jotaro and I will share a room since we are both students."
In response, Jotaro tipped his hat down and let out a deep hum as a sign of agreement.
Students, really? They don't really look the studious type to be going through college... Kakyoin maybe... I wonder what people like them study? Something eccentric probably...
Mr. Joestar's voice brought you back to the present. "So that leaves... Is that a good idea?"
Taking his cue, Polnareff spun around to the elder's side, placing one arm around his shoulder causing the taller to bend down slightly. "No worries monsieur Joestar. I will take good care of the mademoiselle." He said with a routine slyness while plucking the remaining key from Mr. Joestar's hand.
The display coaxed out a sort of chortle from your throat. Good grief, this man is a child.
Mr. Joestar brushed off the interloper and pulled you aside. "If he does anything to make you uncomfortable, just let us know and we can figure out a switch."
