** A moment to appreciate Avdol's 'kek' face. 12/10 wholesome **
After a day or so of quiet drifting, you were picked up by an emergency vessel that saw one of the flares set off by Mr. Joestar. As to be expected after the dual boat fiasco, there was little to no conversation for the remainder of the affair. Not that you minded the silence. The temporary peace was much needed with how mentally and physically drained you all became from the ordeal. Luckily, there were no more stand related incidents the entire way to back to shore.
Now the six of you were gathered in the streets of Singapore debating the next course of action, or, rather, the others held discussion while you sat off to the side playing a finger stick game with Supernova. You had little interest in the conversation anyways. Best to let them argue it out. I'll be content enough just to follow.
You looked down at your hands: two and three, and she has? Two and four... If I use my three-
"I too believe that is the best course of action, but, Mr. Joestar, what are we going to do about her?"
Your head perked up at that final word, and your stand dissipated. Five sets of eyes turned in your direction. There was no point in avoiding attention, they were clearly discussing you now. Your voice was miffed as you stood up from the curb. "Are you really gonna make me go over this again?" Those five heads cocked at your question, while you turned yours down to took a deep breath.
I need to sound firm. To show them that I can be strong... to show myself.
Your fists clenched as your turned your gaze upwards. "I am going to help you put an end to that asshole." Your voice filled itself with a foreign level of confidence, like a blazing fire lighting behind your eyes. However, behind every fire, there is a storm to quell it. A dark shadow loomed over you, casting an intense pressure over your soul.
You looked up and two turbulent orbs locked onto your (e/c) ones as a finger harshly bore into your shoulder. "And what reason do you have, hmm? Petty revenge for messing with your head? That's pretty fucking selfish, if you ask me."
"Oi, Jotaro! Calm down, grandson." Mr. Joestar rushed over, stepping between the two of you. To your surprise, Jotaro did not protest to the push aside; he simply let out a begrudged huff and stepped back.
Mr. Joestar turned back to you with a look of contrite. "I wish I could apologize for my grandson, he's just a little tense about this whole situation. We all are..." He said while gesturing to the other three men. "Look, (Y/N), you must understand, that we all have our reasons for going on this journey. Dio has been a plague upon my family for generations. He and his legacy killed both my grandfather, father, and countless others. As we speak his power threatens the life of my daughter, Jotaro's mother, and who knows what else. So you'll need to understand how important this task is. It's not just about revenge, it's about setting the world right. I'm not saying that you don't have other reasons too, but we cannot take you with us along unless you know the commitment. This is, without a doubt, a life or death situation."
Your lips pursed, not with regret, but with thought in preparation for what you were about to say. You took a deep inhale through your nose, and then parted your mouth. "For years, my life was a dark abyss of fear and nothingness. When I met Dio... it was the first time in forever that I felt like I started to mean something to the world again. He gave my meaningless existence a purpose... My one desire in this life, and he... he took it. He manipulated it. Manipulated me!... And even though his will is gone, it left a fire burning inside me, and I'll be damned if I let it go out and return to that dull numbness. As crazy as it sounds, I need to help defeat that bastard to do right by myself and make sure he doesn't use anyone else like he did me. To do right by myself and finally gain some structure again. To show that I can have a purpose in this cruel, unforgiving world, and it can be whatever the hell I want it to be. And that might sound selfish to you. Hell, I know it does to me. But I am choosing now to seeing this through to the end."
