Chapter one: (Riley's POV)

"I hear there's a rumor going around that our French class gets to go to Paris!" Allison squealed beside me.

Did I forget to introduce myself? Probably. I'm Riley Blakely. I'm seventeen years old, I go to Greenview High and am currently suffering from the worst period cramps in my life. That's me. In a nutshell.

"That's great, Ali. I am so thrilled, gleaming with joy!" I spoke sarcastically.

"Look, I get that you're on your period but can you like not dampen the mood so much? We're going to Paris! We get to see the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland Paris!" she squealed for the billionth time.

"Might. We might get to see all that. It's just a rumor." I'm not usually this pessimistic, I promise.

"I don't like this version of you. Bring the happy one back please?" she whined.

"Wait till next week." I huffed as we stopped at my locker where I grabbed my books for the first two periods. "Math and Bio, great," I uttered sarcastically. I use sarcasm a lot if you haven't noticed.

"Do we have French today? What period is it?" she tried to look into my timetable.

"Eighth period, patience honey, patience." I shut my locker before we headed to math. She wasn't in my math class so I headed to mine and said goodbye. I sat in my seat in the second row from the back before groaning and resting my head in my arms.

"Wakey! Wakey!" I heard someone mumbled before I looked up, resisting an eye roll. Of course, it was him, Asher mother fucking West. I'm gonna give you guys a quick overview on this guy.

Dick, egoistic, full of himself, sometimes funny, devilishly charming although I'd never admitted that to anybody except for myself and a huge pain in the ass. "Morning, asshole," I mumbled to myself as he took the seat behind me as usual.

We don't talk.

At all.

Just snide remarks to each other. It's a hate-hate relationship. I hate his player ways, cockiness and existence and he- well I wouldn't know, we don't talk.

"Pencil please?" he pulled my hood off my head. I rolled my eyes far back into my head before running a hand through my hair.

"Shove it up your ass." I smiled at him while handing him a pencil. Our teacher Mrs. Mathews walked in before he could say something witty.

"Morning class! How many of you have done the homework?" she was a very straightforward teacher but a bitch sometimes. I was on her good side for the most part. "Ms. Blakely?" she asked me, a little surprised that my hand didn't go up.

"Ooh, someone's becoming a rebel." Asher snickered.

"I was attending his funeral," I mumbled before answering, "I was sick." I lied.

"I'll let it slide. Mr. West?" she turned to him as I turned in my seat, amused for his excuse this time.

"My notebook was finished so I couldn't exactly do it." Liar. "Learn to lie," he whispered in my ear from behind.

"And you did not have one sheet of paper at home?" she glared at him. He was stupid.

"I didn't think of that, Mrs. Matthews." He is in such deep shit, again. She smiled sarcastically.

"You can use your time in detention to think of that," she announced before beginning to teach. I turned to look at him with a grin. At least something cheered me up. "Shut up, Ry Ry." He kicked my chair from behind while I chuckled before beginning the work.
