Don't Say Goodbye II Chaennie

Chapter 13

"And then she met Jennie," Jisoo broke the silence, and we couldn't help but chuckle.

Lisa nodded, "She met Jennie," 

"Since we're all missing her. Let's listen to her records." Lisa smiles, trying to erase the gloomy mood. 

"She records?" Jisoo exclaims, amazed that Chaeyoung recorded herself singing since she rarely shares her talent with us.

Lisa nods as she gets a cassette deck and a box full of cassette tapes with labels. I widen my eyes at how classic Chaeyoung was, which is also one of the reasons I admire her.  The tapes Lisa had picked were recently based on the date it was recorded aside from the title of the songs she's singing. The first pick was You & I, dated a year ago. 

The three of us sat back and listened to Chaeyoung's voice. I made myself comfortable, and even when it was only the piano started, I was sure enough she'd be able to pull off anything.

Before Lisa could play the next tape, I noticed a song very precious to me, and I couldn't help but breathe deeply. I shakily reached for the tape labeled Fallin' All In You - January 16 ****. I thought she didn't know the song. Then why does she have a recorded version of this song? The date was on my birthday. 

"Lis, can you play this song?" I asked, trying not to crack since Chaeyoung lied to me. How could she? I gave Lisa the tape, and she widened her eyes once she read the title. 

"Y-You sure about this?" She asks hesitantly. 

"Yeah, is there something wrong with this tape?" 

She shakes her head, "She sang this song to Jennie when she confessed. It became an important song for her." She explained, and I couldn't help but feel my heart tighten—no wonder she couldn't finish the song when I asked her to sing it for me.

Was my memory of someone singing that song from Chaeyoung? It was hard to deny due to her voice. Did she somehow confess to me?  And maybe I rejected her? But she confessed to Jennie. Am I-You must be crazy! There is no way it was me. 

I began to get curious about what Jennie looked like. There are no pictures around here. 

We're free falling, falling all in you 

Then suddenly, my head ached as I painfully had a flashback.

"There has never been a day that I don't think of  you, my love; there has never been a minute of any day that I don't think of you and all we used to do."
