He nodded. "I know. It just hurts me to know that you had to go through it alone."

I chuckled. When he pulled away and his brown eyes met mine, I smiled. "I wasn't alone just like you weren't alone." He smiled before pulling away. I turned towards the others. "Let's go back."

Hours passed. The Toma team had disappeared to search for Kayli. The ten prime and I had just finished dinner when Gabriel pulled me aside for the materials he wanted. Hours later, the bathroom door opened to reveal a new Gabriel.

His hair was a bit messier than the sleek hairstyle that I first saw him in, and he had bleached two strands of hair to a pale blonde. The blonde strands framed his face, and his eyes looked livelier than I have ever seen them. A smile spread over my face at the look of happiness that was on his face.

"Oy, what do you think?" He yelled at the others who looked at him with round eyes. He crossed his arms. With his nose in the air, he smiled. "I think I look fucking like myself."

Luke jumped up and circled Gabriel. "You look good, Gabe."

Gabe nodded before looking at me. "The Academy would always tell us what hairstyle, what haircut, what clothes we could wear. Now that I am free, I'm going to be myself. Now all I have to do is to get my ears pierced and a tattoo."

"A tattoo?" North shouted. His brown eyebrows seemed to have disappeared in his hairline. "You can't get a fucking tattoo!"

Gabriel rolled his eyes. "Well, not right now, but I do want to get my ears pierced."

I straightened. "Do you have earrings you want to pierce your ears?"

The men looked at me with quizzical looks, but Gabriel seemed to be jumping up and down with delight. "Yeah. Let me get them."

As he ran into his room, I went into one of my rooms for the machine. I grabbed it and the supplies I needed and went back into the room. As I laid the supplies down, Nathan looked at me in surprise. "Why do you have that?"

I opened my mouth to speak. I couldn't say that Raven had given me the ear piercing gun along with a body piercing machine. I blushed at the memory of his offering to help pierce my ears and other parts. I shrugged. "I always wanted to pierce my ears but never had the time to get them pierced."

Gabriel came back into the room with his hand clutching something. He held his hand out to reveal two orange and three black stud earrings. I arched an eyebrow. "You want to get all five earrings?"

He looked at me in shock. "I can do all at once."

I nodded my head. I've been there with Raven when he had a few of his piercings done. I felt my cheeks redden at the memory that appeared. "It depends on your pain tolerance."

He nodded his head. "Let's do all of them."

I smiled at his eagerness before disinfecting the needle, his earrings, and his ear. After listening to what he wanted, I placed markings on his skin where he wanted the earrings. After a few minutes, his right ear had its earlobe done with the three rings along the top. I looked at him in admiration. His pain tolerance was really high. Within moments, his left ear was done. I smiled in satisfaction at my work and at Gabriel who was smiling at his reflection.

A throat clearing made me look at the man in black who was looming over me. I smiled at his nervousness. "Yes, North?"

He held out his hand, showing a gold circle earring. "Can you pierce my ear, too?"

I nodded, patting a seat to tell him to sit. He sat down. His eyes were nervously looking away from me as I disinfected the needle. When everything was ready, I looked at him. He had become pale. "Are you okay?"

He sucked in a breath and grunted. "I'm fine. Do it."

He closed his eyes as I came closer and put the machine to his left earlobe. Pulling the trigger, I smiled as I looked at my handiwork. "How do you like it?"

I looked at North, and my jaw dropped. His body had fallen back, and his eyes were closed. I blinked, not sure if what happened actually happened. "Did he just faint?"

Snickering behind me turned into laughter. Sean had fallen onto the ground with tears running down his cheeks. "He didn't want to admit he was afraid of needles."

I chuckled before straightening. "Okay, time to go to bed."

After Silas and Nathan had helped North into his bed, everyone disappeared into their rooms. I stayed up, making sure everything was put away. I looked into the closet, making sure that the emergency bags were ready in case we had to run. As I turned the lights off, I sat in the dark, looking out the window. For years, I've had insomnia and was only able to sleep for four hours at a time. I had become accustomed to the lack of sleep.

Before I closed my eyes to sleep, I made sure my gun was under my pillow. Minutes or maybe it was hours later, I woke suddenly when a hand clapped over my mouth.
