He sighed in an annoyed manner and turned around before looking back at me, “Why not?” That made me angry all over again. “Why not? YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY FUCKING NOT!” I screamed letting out all the anger that had been cooped up inside of me ever since I found out about Louise and Ashton, and that was a lot of scary rage. Luke looked at me scared and taken a back, “I just found out that she is the reason why I have been feeling like complete and utter, used shit for the past month Luke!” I said holding my hand out signalling to Rose who was outside, probably listening to this whole conversation. He looked at me slightly confused, of course he didn’t get it, he wasn’t even 18 yet.
I took a deep breath in before saying more calmly but with the same ferocity “She told Louise to come over that day I found out about Her and Ash,” Realisation washed over his face, as though he hadn’t just realised that rose told me but that I had felt something for Ashton as well. We stood there not knowing what to say to each other for a moment before I couldn’t bare it any longer. I looked down and walked past him grabbing a jacket I had hung up just in case I wanted to go out, for moments just like these.
“Claire, don’t just leave!” he said as I was about to walk out, “I’ll be back soon enough,” I said in a frustrated voice. I rolled my shoulders forward so my jacket sat on my shoulders comfortably. I looked around and shivered in the cool, brisk air. There seemed to be no one else in the car park, for the moment. I continued to look around for a moment before I stuffed my hands in my pockets and began to walk towards the exit to the chain link fence which marked out the perimeter of the car park.
As I was about to exit the makeshift parking spot, for the boys next concert destination, when I heard the familiar English accent call out my name, to be exact it was a Doncaster accent. I turned around to see Louis jogging towards me, wiping his hands on his jeans, I looked past him. Huh, he had just come out of the bathroom. “Claire, Hey,” he said with a lopsided smile on his face, I smiled a grateful, meek smile. We hadn’t spoken to each other very since, well the whole roof top scene but I had missed our funny, random conversations which also contrasted with the secretive, serious ones we had.
“I was just about to get a jacket so I could go out to get something to eat, you wanna come?” He asked rubbing his hands together to keep them from freezing and falling of his arms. Yes it was that cold. I looked up at him as I felt my whole face lift with a childish happiness before I nodded. He nodded back excitedly before running of towards his bus. Although mid stride he turned around and shouted back in a stupid voice, “I’ll be back!” I burst out laughing and I let the warm happy energy fill me up making me feel much better than I had previously.
It only took a couple of seconds before I saw his bright happy face emerge from the bus and he jogged back over to me. “Ready to go love?” I smiled before replying cheekily, “Ready as I’ll ever be!”
The walk didn’t take that long to get to the nearest coffee shop, which surprisingly wasn’t a Starbucks. As we waited in line we just chatted about random things form the weird choice of wallpaper to the kinds of movies we watched secretly a 1 o’clock in the morning when no one’s watching, come one you know you do it.
“I’ll have an English breakfast tea with sugar and milk thanks,” I said once we finally reached the front of the queue, Louis turned and looked at me.
“Don’t you like coffee?” He asked sounding confused, I shook my head, he still looked at me confused. “I thought it was like some sacred girl rule that everyone must love coffee,” I rolled my eyes and laughed.
“You’re so weird,” he shrugged before turning to the barrister and adding, “I’ll have the same thanks!” I raised my eyebrows that him as he handed the man the money, since I had stormed out without my wallet. As we walked to the side to let the next people in line order I comment, mocking his tone, “I thought it was some sacred boy rule that none shall like tea,” he rolled his eyes at my mocking tone before adding, “Who said I followed the rules,” I looked down at the ground biting my lip, there was just something about the way that he said that and it caused my heart to skip a beat.
A couple of minutes later we were got our hot drinks and began to slowly drift in the direction of the nearest park. “Hey Claire,” Louise said after a couple of minutes of just walking in silence, I turned my head to look at him, “hmm,” I said as I drank some more of my tea and looked at him, signalling that I was listening. He looked around for a moment, before nodding his head at a group of girls who had been whispering and pointing at him.
I rolled my eyes, “Go ahead,” he smiled before jogging over to them to go take some photos or whatever. I smiled at the sight of the ecstatic girls, I looked around taking in my surroundings. I was so lucky to be able to travel to all these different places and so far, apart from the freezing weather, I was loving the UK. And the park we were currently in was amazing, it was filling with trees ranging from luscious greens to deep reds. It had a wide open spaces so that kids could run around in with benches nearby for the parents and also parts which were more crowded with trees and meant for people, just like Louis and I, to walk around in and just enjoy the true beauty of Wales.
He came back over about a minute or two later, “Thanks for letting me do that, I’m not sure many other people would, those Louis hogs”he said the last part jokingly, I shrugged my shoulders before we continued to walk down the path towards the more secluded part of the park. “Claire,” He began, I looked at him before giving him a reassuring smile and he took a deep breath and continued, “I’ve been thinking a lot,” I looked at him pretending to be surprised, “Well that’s a first!” I said sarcastically, we both laughed. "Don't think too hard your head might explode, and we wouldn't want that now would we," I added causing us both to go into laughing hysterics.
“But seriously, I’ve been thinking a lot about the day, on the rooftop,” I nodded solemnly, looking down at my feet, “The day I kissed you and I know we only met one or two months ago but you seem to get and understand me like no one else does,” I didn’t say anything, thoughts whizzing around in my mind. “Claire please say something,” He said quietly after a moment, I looked up at his sadden face, I could feel my heart breaking from inside my body.
“Louis, I…” I began but I didn’t know what I could say that would mean we would both come out of this unbroken but I would have been able to tell him how I felt about him.
He just nodded for a second or two before saying, “No, it’s ok, I get it we only just met and…” But, as I was doing a lot of lately, without thinking, I turned and looked up at him and pressed my lips against his own. I needed him to know that I had felt something for him as well and this wasn't just a one sided crush. He stood their surprised for a second but he relaxed and placed his hand on my lower back, for a moment I just let our lips move in sync but like last time I pulled away before I could let it go too far, and I was also worried that someone like the paparazzi or a fan would see.
I quickly looked around to make sure and smiled when I noticed we were all alone. I looked back up at his grinning face, and my heart fell a little. I stepped back slightly, just like last time, “Louis, I have some stuff in my life that I’m deal with and trying to get over right now but I promise you, no matter what happens I will always remember that way that felt and have that being the one reason why I will try to push through it, so I might have a chance of being with you,” I said, he nodded as he looked back down at his drink.
We stood in silence, just listening to the birds chirp around us and I could swear I heard the faint sound of a bubbling stream. “Claire just know,” he began and I looked back at him so that we were now face to face, “That if you ever need to talk to anyone, I’m always open to listen to anything you have to say, no matter what,” I smiled gratefully, I looked up at this bright blue eyed boy. I had never met someone who had been so committed and determined to know me. And that was a person I had been needing in my life every day since my parents walked me out the door and onto the streets. I smiled up at him, even though he was only a little bit taller than me, and I wrapped my hands around him and closed my eyes just taking in the scent of his musky cologne. I felt him place a kiss on the top of my head right before I muttered a small, quiet “Thank you,” and we continued on our way down the path leading us further and further into the park.
