The Game

Chapter 1

I've  been waiting all year for this, BASKETBALL TRYOUTS! The one thing I can do without screwing it up. I walked out of the locker room and heard an unfamiliar voice.
  "Are you trying out for the team?" When I turned around i saw a surprisingly attractive boy walking towards me.
"Um yeah." I say.
"Are you?"
"Yes" He says.
We stand in a awkward silence until he besides to break it.
"I'm Darrin. What's your na-"
One of the most well know guys in school and you forgot who he is. Good going Aaliyah.
"I'm Aaliyah. I knew that I've seen you somewhere" I say. 
"Yeah..I'm just glad the season started again" Darrin said.
"Me too." I reply.
"Well why have I never seen you?" His statement shocks me.
"It's my first year."
"Oh, well I-"
He is cut off and we hear the coach yell from across the gym. The girls stand on one side and the boys stand on the other.
"Talk to you later, Aaliyah."
Darrin says gently hitting my arm.
"Yeah later." I say.
"Find me after tryouts. I still want to talk to you."
Ok" I say right before we go our separate ways.
~After Tryouts~
I gathered all of my things and walked out of the locker room. When I got out, Darrin was standing there.
"I thought you wanted me to come find you." I say,smiling.
" I did but what's the point when I was already ready and could come find you?" Darrin says.
"I guess you're right." I say.
We start walking out of the gym door and to the front of the school.
"Hey can I get your number?" Darrin says.
"Uh yeah. 752-216-0867"
As soon as we get to the front I see my mom's car.
"Well Darrin. It was nice to meet you."
I say as I move to the car. I'm surprised that I didn't turn into a complete and utter car crash. I get into the car and my mom is eyeing Darrin
"Who is that? He's cute"
"Uh, his name is Darrin. He's well known but we never spoke until today." 
Mom smiles and we pull out of the school.
