2 Years Later

"I think this is it."

A woman stopped in front of a large metal door. She was clad in simple outlander attire, with a notable metal gauntlet secured to her arm. A man fell in place next to her, staring at the door in front of them. He looked down at the fob in his hand, the beeping pulsing fast and loud.

"You're right." He commented, tucking the fob away. " Let me do the talking." He said as stepped toward the door.

The woman rolled her eyes. "Yeah because that goes over so well for us usually."

Even with his helmet on, she knew just from his body language that he was rolling his eyes behind the tinted visor. She had grown very accustomed to reading his body language over the years they had spent together.

The windblown snow nipped at her cheeks and made her eyes sting. "Let's go." She said, taking a step forward past him. "I'm going to freeze to death out here."

He grabbed her arm as she walked past him. "Stay behind me."

She gave me a look as she shrugged his hand off her arm, but he kept a firm grip. "I thought you would have learned by now that I can handle myself, Mando."

His gaze tilted downward, angled toward her leg. Currently was favoring her left.  Even without verbalizing it, Mando could tell when she was hurting. She had come a long way with recovering, now being able to join him again on jobs, but there were still moments where he knew that she was in pain.

She knew that he was only looking out for her, but she found it endearingly annoying. She wasn't a novice at completing a bounty, she was well experienced. After all, this used to be her job too.

"Lead the way." She motioned toward the door with her free hand.

He let go of her arm and moved to the door. She fell in step behind him as the two approached the door. The circle doored opened in a spiral, allowing the two to step through. She shivered as the warmth of the tavern overwhelmed her chilled skin.

Even with the warmth of the tavern, she could still feel a chill coming from several of the patrons. She knew that she and her partner were out of place, they usually were no matter where they went, but it was clear by the feeling hanging in the air that these were not the type of criminals who were smart enough to mind their own business.

"Follow my lead, Bex."

She looked to Mando as he stepped further into the tavern.

Instantly, she recognized the man they were there for. It was clear that the two bounty hunters had interrupted a growing tussle as their mark was surrounded by three men, one holding a knife to his throat. Bex knew they would have to fix that as a dead mark meant half or no payment at all.
