"Kat!" Eijirou's hand slapped the table, the hit echoing around the hangars. "Kat, you can't- You can't be like this." Watery eyes rose, bloodshot, shoulders heaving. Aki trotted away with a rigid line of hair raised along his spine. "Stop...Just-just... Stop!"
"Eijirou." Katsuki frowned, "The fuck you want me to stop doing?"
"Stop... stop loving me." The words dripped from Eijirou's lips in a desperate plea.
The world froze around the word. Neither man moved. Eyes locked. Katsuki couldn't breathe.
"I-I didn't mean- I didn't mean to say that." Eijirou sat back down slowly, eyes darting frantic as though he could make a run from the conversation.
"What did you mean?" Katsuki had to laugh. "I... I mean." He swung a foot up over a knee, let himself recline. I'm calm. I'm calm. He took a drink, eyes fixed on the blue sky above. This is fine. "You aren't wrong."
"What the fuck." Eijirou hung his head in his hands. "Jesus Christ, what the fuck. What are we doing? Katsuki, what are we doing with each other?"
"I-" Katsuki sighed, gaze falling back down to Eijirou, hurt by his head dropped in his palms. Tormented, confused. "I don't know Ei." Katsuki's voice soft, gentle. "I think it's obvious that-"
"The other night, at my house- before the shrine. I was that oni. First the dragon, then a demon. I saw you. You. What the fuck is happening?" Shoulders trembled. "Is it supposed to be like this?" Eijirou's voice was tight, his head shook so slowly. "I don't know what to say to Pony anymore. Most of the time I just ignore her. Do you have any idea what that's going to do if- I've never wanted to be with a-" He swallowed hard, risking to look across the table, flushing bright red when his gaze collided with Katsuki's. "I-I mean-"
"Have you-?" Katsuki leaned forward again, elbows on knees, eyes narrowed. He couldn't help the jealousy flaring in his chest. "Have you wanted to be with a man?"
"I-I don't know, Kat." Eijirou closed his eyes, breathed out hard. "I've... Fuck, I've thought about it a lot. It's got me through..." He swallowed. "It got me through things with Pony, girls. Sometimes."
"Yeah?" Katsuki ran his hands up and down his thighs, trying not to think of that, trying to discharge some of the tension. "Eijirou. I-"
Ei's phone buzzed. "Fuck, bad timing Denki."
"Leave it to Dunceface." Katsuki muttered, earning a weary grin.
"So," Eijirou laughed, "it's Denki's birthday."
Katsuki jolted, "You didn't tell me."
"I... uh." Eijirou blushed again, sheepishly. "I forgot." He shrugged. "They wanna take us all down to Kyoka's club. She's gunna hook us up with drinks. You down?"
"Do I have a choice?" Katsuki wrinkled his nose. "All those people, all the noise. Fuck it's gunna be a shit show."
"It's his birthday. The first one you'll be here for and participate in. Don't be an ass." Eijirou stood, pointing.
"The fuck ever." Katsuki rolled his eyes, snagging Eijirou's helmet and hanging it up. "You go get ready then. I'll clean up here."
"A-are you sure we're-?" Eijirou was frozen, his eyes wide in terror. "Cuz I feel like we didn't finish talking about-"
"It's fine, Ei." Katsuki stayed with his back to the man, unable to face him just yet. Unable to face... everything. "We can deal with it later."
"Okay." Katsuki could hear the shrug, the disappointment. "If you say so..."
