This chapter is dedicated to Caitlynx1x2x3. She's amazingly sweet and caring. She genuinely wants to know how I'm doing with everything. She asks if I'm okay if she sees something off or if we just haven't talked in a little while. She's a very good person.
I was at the microphone stand. My eyes were still closed. The piano opening to the song was still playing when I realized I should introduce the song because not everyone our age will know this tune. I quickly cleared my throat. I opened my eyes. Joe was already looking at me with pure joy because he could already tell what the song was.
"Th-this song is called Bridge Over Troubled Water..."
It was time for me to begin singing now - singing for Joe.
When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
Oh when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
Oh when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on, golden boy (the original lyric is "silver girl", but I sang "golden boy" instead for Joe)
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh if you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
As I sang, I never took my eyes off of Joe. He looked at me in a way that can only be described as pure love. The song ended and...people stood up and clapped. Joe was the first out of his seat.
"Thank you." I said into the microphone, smiling as I began to leave the stage. I noticed Joe began coming toward the stage. He ran up the steps. What was he doing?
