"Uncle Josh, Uncle Josh." Gracie called so Seth set her down and she rushed over to him and he scooped her up. "Hi Grammy."
"Hello darling." Annette said kissing her cheek.
"Look I found Grampy and Uncle Richy." Gracie said.
"Hello ma." Rich said hugging his mom when they got closer.
"Hello." Annette said hugging him back. "Met our Gracie."
"We did." Ken said. "An amazing addition to our family."
"I agree." Annette said.
"Who's ready for cake?" Becky asked.
"I am." Seth said.
"I still think grapes would be better." Gracie said. "But I will try."
"You should see some of the cakes they have." Josh said.
He turned Gracie to the window.
"Wow." She said.
"Goodies every now and then are okay." Becky said. "So you ready to sample?"
"Yes." Gracie said and they headed inside.
Becky checked in with the owner who set them up in the back.
"We make over twenty different types of cakes." The owner Maggie said. "So here is a clip board with all the names, each cake has a card with name and what is in it, mark what you like until you picked and if nothing works let me know and we can do a custom one."
"Thanks." Seth said.
They sat down and looked at the different cakes.
"Can I pick first?" Gracie asked.
"Of course you can." Seth said.
So that's how they did it. Gracie would pick a slice and all would try and they'd give a thumbs up or down.
"No." Gracie said as she tried the chocolate cake with dried fruits in it. "Ewww."
"I agree." Becky said. "Here drink the taste away."
Gracie drank half the glass of milk.
"That's a no." Seth said.
"That's a never." Gracie said making them laugh.
"I agree." Josh said.
"Okay we have two more slices." Seth said. "A chocolate fudge with while fudge frosting and a raspberry one."
"Raspverry?" Gracie said.
"Berry." Becky said moving the plate over.
"B...b...berry." Gracie said testing the word.
"Very good." Becky said. "B's can be tricky."
"Yep." Gracie said. "Raspberry."
"That's right." Seth said. "Have a taste."
Gracie took a small bite and smiled.
"That is yummy." Gracie said.
Everyone else agreed and then they tried the chocolate cake liking it too.
"I think the last two were the best." Becky said.
"Me too." Gracie said.
"I wonder." Seth said taking a bite of each and munching on it.
"Well." Becky asked.
"That was good." Seth said.
"I try please daddy." Gracie said.
Seth smiled and gave her a bite and then gave one to Becky.
"That is a good combo." Becky said.
"So yummy." Gracie said.
"How's it going." Maggie asked coming back over.
"They love the last two we tried." Annette said.
"The double chocolate fudge and our raspberry cream." Maggie said.
"So yummy." Gracie said.
"Give me one moment." Maggie said walking over to her display case and coming back with a slice of cake.
"Now this one is not in our wedding line up, but it's a double fudge without the white with the raspberry cream." Maggie said.
Gracie took the first spoonful.
"Well." Becky asked.
"This is it." Gracie said. "Almost better then grapes."
Both smiled and everyone took a sample.
"I do like that." Seth said.
"Me too." Becky said. "Our wedding colors are red and gold."
"Okay." Maggie said. "Let me grab my cake book and you can do a style.
"How about while you two pick the style I take this one to run off this sugar." Josh said.
"That might be a good idea." Becky said.
"I'll walk with them to the park two blocks up." Rich said.
"But Uncle Richy my itty bitty legs will be too tired to run if they have walk two blocks." Gracie said.
"How about a ride?" Rich asked.
"Yay." Gracie cheered.
"Have fun." Becky said as they left with Gracie on Rich's back.
"That girl is adorable." Ken said.
"She has her moments." Seth said as Maggie returned.
"Okay so good and red." Maggie said.
"We're doing a Christmas wedding." Becky said.
"How lovely." Maggie said. "Now if we do the white fudge frosting we can dye it red."
"I like that." Becky said.
"And we can do gold flowers all over it." Maggie said.
"That would be okay." Seth said.
"Take a look at the different styles we can do." Maggie said and they opened the book and looked through.
"What would you like?" Seth asked.
"I kinda like the traditional three tear." Becky said.
"Okay, we can do that." Seth said.
Becky smiled and they pointed out the cake they liked and Maggie wrote down all the information.
"Okay we will have it delivered to the hotel on the 24th and they'll keep it in their walk-in."
"Thanks." Seth said as he walked with her to pay for it all.
"Are you sure you don't want us to pay for the wedding?" Ken asked.
"We're sure." Becky said. "Seth and I work hard for our money and we don't mind paying for our wedding."
"We set your a trust when you were born for this." Annette said.
"Well turn it into a college fund for your grandchildren." Becky said.
"Are you telling us?" Annette said.
"I am not pregnant, but someday I hope to be. I like being a mom." Becky said.
"And you seem to be doing amazing at it." Ken said.
"We got very lucky with Gracie, she's been a joy." Becky said.
"She is so much like you and Seth." Annette said.
"She is." Becky said as Seth came over. "I think it's why she fits so perfectly with us."
"It is." Seth said. "We are settled here and I got some dessert for later."
"Speaking of later I need to go start dinner so I can take it back to the house." Annette said.
"Okay." Seth said.
"Let me help." Ken said. "I will see you two later for dinner."
Becky and Seth nodded as her parents headed off.
"Shall we go find our rugrat?" Seth asked.
"Yes." Becky said smiling.
