Endocannibalism is a practice which involves eating one's flesh from a human being relatively from the same community, tribe or society. It commonly takes place after the person has died and in some cultures, it is believed that eating their deceased loved ones is an honor.

One Tribe that still practices the art of "Endocannibalism" is the Yanomami Tribe however the main reason they continue with this way of life is because they do not believe that death is a natural occurrence of life. Instead, they believe that rival tribe's shamans sent demons or evil spirits to directly target someone in the tribe(to strike them down) whether they still do believe this is a mystery to me but its fascinating.
