'How be the fault yours, my impulsive son
or should I correctly call you brother?'
    'Think with what you do burden me, mother.
    Think of what you accuse Hyperion.'

'I accuse nothing, I speak only truth.
Were not Hera and Zeus so connected?
Nyx and Erebus also suspected?
Only mortals view such actions uncouth.'

    'Mother, my birth you obscenely impugn,
    timeworn quarrel you elect to resume
    being angry and therefore choosing to wound.'

'Careful, my son, there is much you presume,
ruined child that lies in death's dark swoon
may only be saved if your life be doomed.'

Hera and Zeus were both husband and wife as well as sister and brother. Incest was apparently quite common amongst the gods and goddesses.
