so many houses

Wendy simply smiled. What a weird sensation to have someone else inside her mind. She was not sure if she was supposed to be worried for what it can see in it, but she was quite relaxed.

"You're quite clever and witty too, if not, you're really creative. That natural talent of yours can be further improved in the house of Ravenclaw. They truly are quite a house. Although, I see you have thought of Hufflepuff too, can't blame you, you're very hardworking and loyal too. But your patience could be improved."

She couldn't help but chuckle.

"Have you ever thought of Gryffindor? The house of bravery and chivalry."

She never have, always thought that her fears didn't make her qualified for that house.

"You're quite a girl, as you have qualities I have never seen beforehand, given your age. I'd love to sort you into other houses but I'd be disgraced to not put you where you truly belong—"

"GRYFFINDOR!" The Hat shouted to the whole hall.

Wendy was expecting to just get up and sit down among the rest, but she was greeted with the most clamorous of cheers and chants. The whole table stood up as if she won a medal for them, and Wendy couldn't help herself but feel welcomed. It was to put shame to the claps she received as she won 'Female CEO of the year'.

With a big smile she joined in the table of red and gold. People patting her back and welcoming her to their house. She sat down between two girls as they made space for her.

"Hi, I'm Wendy." She greeted to both of them.

"Welcome to Gryffindor, Wendy. I'm Hermione." The girl at her left said with a big smile.

Hermione Granger, the girl of the Golden Trio, the brightest witch of her age, one of Wendy's personal favourite characters. She couldn't help but squeal, as she hugged the girl.

"Oh my God! Hi! I know you, you're a wonderful witch!" She praised the girl.

Hermione was quite shocked, no idea of how that girl could have known her, but she smiled nonetheless, "are you a muggle born? You used the expression 'oh my God'."

"Is it not allowed?"

"There are no rules for it, but wizards tend to use 'Oh Merlin' instead." She explained.

Wendy nodded keeping note of that. Culture shock. She will have to get used to, not only magic, but also the culture and expressions of this world. She had a lot to catch up on.

"Hi, I'm Ginny Weasley." The girl at her right spoke.

Wendy thought before speaking this time, careful of what was going out of her mouth.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Wendy."

Wendy looked in front of her, expecting to see Ron and Harry. To her disappointment, she didn't see Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, but she saw Harry and Ron. She had to admit, every character did look like their respective actors and actresses, but they had that look that could only be explained by the books and sketches of J.K. Rowling.

Harry smiled at her and said "I'm Harry."

While Ron simply continued gorging himself with the food that was before them. Wendy heard a sigh from both girls and Ron received a smack from a boy beside him. The boy in question smiled apologetically at the new arrival, "Sorry, my brother Ron, seems to have left manners at home."

"You're one to talk," Ginny commented.

The boy was no other than one of the twins of the Weasley's and beside him his—well— twin. "I'm George Weasley, older brother of our Ron here," he glared at the boy beside him, "and Ginny."

"And I'm Fred Weasley, their older brother." The boy beside George said so proudly.

"Oh shut it, you're just a few minutes older than me."

"Still older!" Fred said.

"Not all Gryffindors are like them, I promise." Hermione said apologetically.

Wendy chuckled, "I don't mind, they're quite funny."

"Heard that everyone? I'm funny." Fred said.

"She said 'they're funny' so I'm funny too." George fought.

Wendy was sure she would have been happy in that house. But she couldn't stop thinking about the Sorting Hat's words. It was a magical being created by one of the founding members of Hogwarts a long time ago, each word it said must mean something. So she wondered what it meant when it said 'the house where you truly belong'.

She tried to push the thoughts away, trying, instead, to imagine her life there with that house. But another thought came to her, and the image of her old house came to her—what would people think happened to her in her time? Who would have taken care of Diego? Will she be able to see her family again?

Question after question plagued her mind until it was time to finally get to bed. Her room was shared with other girls, not what she was used to, having a whole house for herself and her pet, but she will have to live with a lot of things not normal to her, for a while. She forced herself to sleep. Her first night in the castle, first of who knows how many other nights.

notes:
[I am so sorry I'm taking so long to update. But some things came up one after the other and I didn't have time to update anything. I had this chapter ready for a while now, so I decided to take five minutes of my day to post, but I haven't revised it and it may contain more grammatical errors than normal. So please just bare with it for now.

I'm sorry to tall, I will be back with more updates once things are clearer.]
