Chapter 13

Emily's P.O.V.

Its been about a moth and half since Ash and I got back together. Things between me and Ash have been good, better than good actually, things have been amazing. I'm basically living at Ashton's place. During the week, we go to school separately. Ash divides spending her lunch with me and with her friends. When school ends, Ash goes back to her place and works on the cars. I leave an hour and go to Ash's place. I help out around the house, make dinner, and finish my work.

We eat dinner together and while I clean up Ash does any homework she has. Then the rest of the night, depending on what time it is, we either watch a movie or cuddle and talk until we fall asleep. Saturdays are reserved for work. Ash will work on cars and homework while I'll finish any work and start getting ready for the following week. Sundays are our date day. Depending on how we are feeling we either stay in and have some fun if you know what I mean or we go somewhere that no one will recognize us.

It is currently Saturday night and we are laying in our bed naked. I am laying in Ash's arms while running my hand through her hair and Ash is gently tracing patterns on my side. We have just finished taking a shower together. I look up at Ash and Ash looks down at me. I smile and Ash smiles back. Ash leans in and connects our lips for a short kiss. "What are you thinking Em" Ash asks. "My mom called me the other day" I said, "She said that the family was having a barbeque tomorrow."

"Ok..." Ash says, "But you have that look." "What look" I ask. "That look that you get when you want to ask something but not sure how to ask" Ash says, "What is it? You can tell me anything." "Well I was hoping that...I was hoping that you would come with me" I say, "Tomorrow...to meet my family." "Are you sure" Ash asks. "Yes" I reply. "What our story then" Ash asks, "We can't come out and tell them the truth since I am your student and you are my teacher."

"We will tell them that we met at Greymont Academy and that we dated until I left for college since you are a few years younger than me" I say, "We ran into each other on my first day as a teacher. And well the rest is history." "I see what you did there" Ash says, "Clever." "I know" I say. "Looks like I'll be meeting your family tomorrow" Ash says. I hug Ash tightly, "Thank you Ashton, for everything." "Its nothing" Ash replies, "I'd do anything for you Emily."

"Come one Em" Ash yells from the garage, "We are going to be late." "Almost done" I yell back as I put the finishing touches of my makeup on. Double check myself and make sure I have everything. Once I'm satisfied, I walk to the garage and get into Ash's car. Ash drives us to my parent's house. The car ride consists of us laughing and talking the whole way. Once we arrive and Ash parks and takes a deep breath.

"Relax, you'll be fine" I say placing a hand on her knee, "I'll be right next to you the whole time, I promise." "Ok, I'm just nervous" Ash says. "You have nothing to worry about" I say, "They will love you." Ash nods and says, "Lets go." We get out of the car and walk to the door hand in hand. I knock and a few seconds later my mom opens the door. "Emily" my mom says smiling pulling me into a hug, "I'm glad you came, I missed you." "Its nice to see you too mom" I say, "I've missed you too." My mom releases me and looks at Ash.

"And who is this fine young gentleman" my mom asks. Ash chuckles and sticks out her hand, "Its Ashton, Ashton Red. It's nice to finally meet you Mrs. Bates, Emily has told me a lot about you." "Aren't you a cutie" my mom says pulling Ash into a hug, "Why did you tell me you had a boyfriend Emily?" "Because I don't" I say, "Mom this is Ashton, my girlfriend." "Girl-girlfriend" my mom says, "You're a...I am so sorry." "Its fine" Ash says, "Happens all the time."

"I love you Emily" my mom says pulling me into a hug, "No matter what." "I love you too mom" I say. "Now go say hi to everyone else" my mom says. I grab Ashton's hand and go say hi and introduce Ash to the rest of my family. We then grab some drinks and sit in the corner of the living room just talking. I have my legs over Ashton's legs and I'm leaning into her. "Your family seems cool" Ash says. "Glad you think so" I say, "There's something you need to know Ash." "What" Ash asks.

I say, "I don't think you know this, but my cousin is-" "Ashton" Lacy says standing in front of us. "...Lacy" I say. "You two are..." Ash says in shock, "Oh god..." "Why is Ashton..." Lacy says, "Wait, did you tell everyone?" "Ya I did" I say. "I'm proud of you Ems" Lacy says. "I'm assuming you two filled each other in on everything" Ash says. "Yes" Lacy and I say. "Right..." Ash says, "I'm sorry Lacy for everything and if I hurt you I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt you."

"I know Ashton" Lacy says, "You just better not hurt my cousin." "I promise" Ash says. The door is slammed open and two guys walk in. "What up Bates family" guy one says. "The party has officially started" guy two says. Lacy says, "Isn't that your-" "Unfortunately" I say interrupting Lacy and sigh, "Dammit..."
