Chapter 10

I wake up feeling like am about to puke my guts out. I open my eyes but immediately close them, groaning. Why did I even drink last night? Oh that's right, to forget about Emily. And for the record, totally not worth it. After a few minutes, I'm finally able to open my eyes and keep them open. On top of feeling sick to my stomach, my head is killing me. I am never drinking again...ok scratch that, if I do ever drink again, I'm not going to drink myself sick again.

Where are Troy and Ozzy? They usually crash at my place; did they go home? Wait...where am I? This isn't my room. I quickly look around trying to figure out who's room I am in. I have no idea where I am, what happened last night? I hope I didn't do anything embarrassing or something I will regret. Maybe Troy or Ozzy know something, I'll just go ask them. I go to find them when I realize I'm naked. Oh god...please tell me I didn't sleep with someone.

I look to my right and a girl with red hair, her back is to me sleeping peacefully. "Emily" I whisper to myself confused. I reach over and slowly remove some hair from her face, praying that I don't wake her up. When I see who it is, I am shocked. "Oh god, I'm gonna be sick" I whisper as I climb out of bed and begin to get dressed quickly but quietly. I run out of the room and house to my car.

How the hell did that happen? I remember arriving to the party with Ozzy and Troy, I started to drink to forget Emily, I let myself get talked into a game of beer pong, and that's the last thing I remember. "Dammit" I say dropping my head onto the steering wheel, "I can't believe I slept with Lacy." This day can't get any worse is my only thought as I drive home.

I spend the rest of the my morning either in the bathroom puking my guts out or laying on my bed regretting last night. Once I start to feel a little better, I take a shower to get rid of the stench of alcohol. I walk out of my bathroom in a pair of basketball shorts and t shirt to see Ozzy standing in the doorway. "Told you she would be in here" Ozzy says and a few seconds later Troy walks in. I raise my eyebrow and Troy raises a paper bag saying, "We brought celebratory burgers."

"Thank god" I say, "I'm starving." We walk to my dining room and dig in. In a matter of minutes, we all have devoured a burger and are working on our second burger. "Guess what happened last night" Troy says smiling. "What" I ask. "Me and Chelsea went all the way last night" Troy says smiling, "And we have a date later tonight." "Dude that's awesome" I say smiling. "About time" Ozzy says.

"So, Chelsea tells me you and Lacy went all the way last night" Troy says. "Alright Ashton" Ozzy says smiling, "So that's where you disappeared to last night." I groan and place my head in my hands, "This day just got worse." "Are you ok man" Ozzy asks. Should I tell them? They are my best friends, but I don't want to get Emily in trouble. "What is it Ashton" Troy asks, "Whatever it is you can tell us." "You know we won't tell anyone" Ozzy says. Ozzy's right, they are my best friends and I trust them.

"You guys can't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you" I say, "You guys are always asking me why I broke up with Lacy and won't give her a chance." "And you always give us some bullshit answer" Ozzy says. "The truth is I'm in love with someone else" I say. "Who" Troy asks. I reply after a few seconds, "Its uh...its Emily." Troy and Ozzy start going through all the lists of all the girls we know until Ozzy gives me that look. Ozzy says, "Noooo...Emily, as in Emily Bates. A.K.A. out teacher Emily Bates."

"That's the one" I reply. "Wait" Troy says, "We met Emily months after you broke up with Lacy." I say, "Funny story actually...I actually met her when she was a senior." "What exactly happened between you two" Ozzy asks. I told Ozzy and Troy about how we met, dating in secret, and how she standing me up excluding the parts about us sleeping together. "Woah" Troy says, "That explains a lot." "Just one question" Ozzy says, "Have you two...you know slept together?"

"I'm not answering that" I reply. "You totally have" Ozzy says. "Then why did you sleep with Lacy last night" Troy asks. "Because I was upset and thought it would be a good idea to drink in order to forget" I say, "Which turned out to be a very bad idea." Troy asks, "So what are you going to do now?" "First off tell Lacy the truth" I reply, "And then figure out where my head is."

Lacy's P.O.V.

I walked up to my cousin's house and knocked. I asked if I could come over a few hours before everyone else arrived because I couldn't wait to tell her my news. Me and Ashton finally went all the way last night, even though some of the details are a little blurry it was still the best night of my life. The only downside was waking up to an empty bed, I wonder why Ashton left me and where she went to. I'll just have to ask her Monday since she is ignoring all my calls and texts.

The door opens and I see my cousin. "Hey" I say smiling. She invites me and asks, "What was so important that you couldn't wait to tell me?" "So last night was the best night of my life" I say. "How so" my cousin asks. "Me and my crush went all the way last night" I say smiling. "I hope you two used protection" my cousin says, "And he didn't force you." "We did and she didn't" I reply. "Wait" my cousin says, "Which crush are we talking about?" "Ashton" I say, "We go to school together."

She looks shocked and asks, "Ashton Red?" "That's the one" I say, "Are you ok?" "I'm in love with Ashton" Emily says, "And I think Ashton still has very strong feelings for me." "You and Ashton used to date" I ask in shock, "I thought you were straight." "I thought so to until I met Ashton" Emily replies, "It all started a few weeks into my senior year of high school..."
