"What resemblance?" Katsuki turned on Eijirou as they began moving through the crowd again.

"Hmm." Eijirou stalled at a vendor, purchasing some fried squid. "Well, she might mean the eye thing?" He waved at his own face. "It's kind of weird, don't you think? I mean for us it's genetic. Passed down."

"Yeah me too, asshole." Kastuki tossed the now empty bottle, stealing a squid and taking a bite. "My mom has nearly red eyes too. But you're lying. You've got a tell."

"Do I?" Eijirou chewed on his fried squid as they walked, "I've always thought that if I replaced the whole truth with a half-truth it would be-Mmno!" An elbow to Katsuki's gut. "Masks!"

"Jesus, we're doing the whole festival thing tonight, aren't we?" Katsuki sighed, giving up on getting the truth out of Eijirou as he was guided through the crowd. "What was your Aunts problem with her sister. Is that your mom?"

Eijirou tensed as they entered the stall, set up shockingly large and deep. "You know, after this they do a sake infused candy apple you gotta try." He leaned back, frowned as he poked the violently red mouth of a Hyottoko. "It's..." He sighed, "It's so complicated, Kat." He ran a hand through his loose hair. "She's... mean. She's so fucking mean."

"Not your Aunt as in Mina's mom." Katsuki clarified. " The Little Sister? Is she the reason-" Katsuki followed Eijirou as he walked slowly around a small group of girls crowded around keychains. Inhaled, "Thereasonyou'rewithPonystill?" Coughed.

Eijirou paused for a step, body tensing. For a long while, despite moving around the tent, neither of them said anything.

I shouldn't have said anything. Katsuki worried, heart thundering. I should have let it be. I shouldn't have pried. Hands itched to touch Eijirou, to force him to turn around and face him, face this problem, to confront it and overcome it.

But how could he do that when Katsuki couldn't even overcome the death of someone from over a decade ago? He snorted derisively, bumping into Eijirou, unaware he'd stopped. The contact felt offensive, like he'd violated Eijirou somehow.

"Fuck, I'm so sorry, Ei-"

"I think this one?" Eijirou pointed at a crisp white kitsune mask with orange around the eyes, the young girl working the booth rushed over.

"The-the gold leaf kitsune?" She breathed, took a double take at Eijirou. Blushed.

"Please?" Eijirou grinned, head tilted. "We're trying to hide from some family."

"A couple local celebrities!" She clapped around her pole, beaming. "I'm so honored."

Eijirou's brows bunched, "I-I'm not sure you-" He laughed nervously, eyes darting to a very focused Katsuki, grabbing the mask. "I'm not a cel-"

"Oh no." Her grin widened. "I just mean with your Aunt and them hiring us." She laughed, hand resting on Eijirou's forearm. "I didn't mean to fluster you, I'm sorry? I can tell by the eyes."

Her head cocked sweetly. She was cute in a... girly way. Katsuki admitted, gaze darting to a completely calm Eijirou. Still the jealousy was there.

"This mask is perfect." Eijirou nodded, free hand covering the girls, "thank you so much for your help." He winked at her, "I may need some more assistance in a moment."

"Y-yeah..." her breathy tone worsened, cheeks ruby. "O-of course..."

"I do think though," Eijirou leaned closer to her, gaze just over her shoulder as she watched him; starstruck, "that you have other customers right now."

"R-right! Yes, of course. Thank you." She pulled away, bowed.

"You fucking flirt." Katsuki yanked the mask out of Eijirou's hand, pulling it over his head.
