"Hmm?" Barda mused as he and Doom read over the letter for the fifth time, "This is interesting."
"More like suspicious," Doom muttered. "I would like to meet this 'Pluto' myself and see what he has to say about Anna."
"How much do you remember from your time in the Shadowlands?" Lief queried.
"Not much," Doom admitted. "Which is why I want to meet this person who claims to be my son."
"The letter only says that Anna was Pluto's other. It says nothing to do with Jarred...I mean, you," Barda added.
"Hello!? Don't I get a say in who goes? I mean, it was addressed to me."
Doom smiled. "Of course. My lack of memory would only serve to make this 'Pluto' distrust your party. Something you can't afford."
"Huh?" Jasmine asked. She would never get used to how quickly Doom's thoughts ran through his mind. "Right. So I'll take Leif and Barda then. Afterall, Leif is my husband, which makes Pluto his brother-in-law. And who better to protect the King and Queen then the Captain of the Royal Guards?"
"Agreed," Barda and Lief said in unison.
