3. The Audition

As I was standing in front of the big, double doors, I thought I was about to have a heart attack.

They opened and I stepped out into the room and started walking up the stairs.

If I'm being honest the red chairs were very intimidating.

When I got to the middle of the stage, I took a deep breath and gave the sound guy the signal.

For some reason, I spent the whole song with my eyes shut. I was way too nervous to open them.

When I got to the chorus, the audiences claps and cheers boosted my confidence a bit but I was still too nervous to open my eyes.

When the song finished, I opened my eyes and my jaw dropped.

All of the judges had turned around.

My hand flew to my mouth and I grinned uncontrollably.

The clapping died down and I turned to hear what the judges had to say.

George was first.

"I thought it was amazing. I wasn't going to turn at first but when you hit that high note I just had to. I also saw that there was a lot of emotion in that performance and it was done beautifully. "

I smiled.

"Thank you."

Then it was Delta.

"It was fabulous. I turned around like two minutes in, which can I just point out, was first."

I laughed.

"I did see that you had your eyes closed the whole time, which is something we can work on if you come on my team."

Next it was Kelly.

"You, my girl, are talented. It was extraordinary. A lot of people, when they sing Whitney Houston, get it really wrong. But you sang it perfectly."

"Thank you."

Lastly, it was Joe.

"one word: wow. You have an absolutely beautiful voice. You're vocal range is amazing. One minute you were singing low and then the next, you were singing a beautiful high pitch. I thought it was great."

"Thank you."

"I need you on my team. I really really want you to choose me." Delta said.

"Well I want her more." Joe said.

"Do you really want to go on the vice with these ametuers, or do you really want to work with me?" George said.

"Ametuers? I ain't no ametuer." Kelly said.

"Look, I have worked with so many amazing female vocalists," Joe started.

"Oh Joeeee." Kelly dragged in a weird voice.

"Like Demi Lovato, Ciara, Bonnie Tyler."

"Ciaria is my best friend!" Kelly attempted.

"Well I've won this show the last two years."

Joe got on his knees and into a pleading position.

They all started begging for me to pick them and it was time for me to make a decision.

"Uhhh, I think I might..."

"Please." Joe begged.

"I think I might go with Kelly." I said finally.

Kelly squealed whereas the others threw their heads back and groaned.

They all hugged me and when it got to Joe, we made eye contact and i swear, he had the nicest eyes.

He was definitely more attractive up close.
