Prologue

"He is not going to like this." Blake stated as he watched his beautiful wife steal a piece of an apple from the fruit platter kept beside his desk before sitting down across the table from him.

"I don't really care. It's high time he settles down." Aera pushed a few wayward strands of her long hair away from her face. She liked her hair to be of medium length, but since Blake loved playing with it, she had compromised long back. Her thick hair was a hassle during washes, but she loved it when Blake helped her dry them.

"Settles down? Honey, don't you think we are being a bit too strict? Our company is in a secure place in the market. I don't think we need to force him into doing something extreme like this..." Blake trailed off when he saw the expression on her face. Despite being a foot shorter, Aera knew how to easily shut him up with a look. He saw her finish the apple piece and take another.

In contrast to Blake being a world-renowned business mogul who could hardly be seen without his business attire, Aera was the head of a small chain of cafes and preferred wearing hoodies and shorts. But today, she was wearing formals, a shirt with a blazer and a pencil skirt. No one who saw her for the first time can say that she was a day above thirty-five, when in fact, the reality was quite different.

"If we do not interfere, he will remain single forever. You know how he is." The former Miss. World pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation.

"But why her? She is just a child! Barely eighteen." Blake shook his head sideways as to get the thought out of his head, hardly believing what was going to happen in less than two months. The way the meeting concluded an hour back with his business partner was still blowing his mind.

"I know, but there is no one else whom he would have so many problems marrying. Maybe this will force him to take some action." Aera leaned forward to steal a grape now, but grinned when Blake pushed the entire platter towards her, grabbing the subway sandwich she had ordered earlier but didn't want to eat anymore. As he bit into it, he wondered what all battles lay in the future for them as parents.

Their son was a hard nut to crack and had both of his parents' stubbornness combined.

"What is the endgame here?" he asked instead, as he picked off the tomato in the sub, wrapped it in a tissue and threw it away, shuddering.

Aera looked at her husband and smiled lovingly. She wanted her son to find what she had found all those years ago in Blake. "Finding someone for him to love."

"Finding a unicorn doing drugs would be easier."
