Chapter 12...THE FORMAL!

"Well, yeah it is, but that just it! I wasn't expecting this and what if I mess up!" He says sadly.

I rolled my eyes "Dude, just man up and deal with it, just have fun"

"Yeah. Yeah, you're right man" Matthew patted me on the back and left smiling like a goof. 

I shook my head and continued walking, just then the bell rang. Time for health, yay! Note the sarcasm. I walked into the classroom and took my seat, which was next to Jasmine. I saw that she was currently holding the baby in her lap and was writing in her notebook. The teacher came in and the class quieted down. 

"Ok class, we will be naming our babies today and getting our career jobs. First, I'll come around with a hat and you will blindly pick the gender of you child. Then, I will give you five minutes to name it. After that, I will come around with a hat and everyone will blindly pick their careers. So good?" The class made a sound that kind of sounded like agreement. Then the teacher was going around with the hat and when it came to Jasmine and I, I told her to pick.

"We got a boy" she said while reading the paper. 

"Cool" I said and smiled. Jasmine rolled her eyes, but still had a small smile. 

"So what do you want to name it?" she asked me 

"Jacob junior, duh" I said with a grin. She hit me and said

"I'm serious!" 

"Hmmm, what about Parker?" I said

"Nah" she said 

"What about...Alex?" Jasmine suggested 

"Nope, let's make it start with J, so it can keep tradition!"

"Good Idea!" she said happily

We both concentrated and thought for a while until we both said at the same time..

"Jack!" we both laughed and Jasmine wrote it down

"Ok, now I'll be coming around with your careers" Ms. Gilmer said 

We waited until she came to us and we each took out ours. I read mine and looked at Jasmine. She raised an eyebrow at me.

"What does yours say?" I asked her 

I saw her take a nervous glup and then she said "Uhhh, It say I am a famous singer"

I widened my eyes and looked down at my paper "Mine says the same thing, this is bullshit!"

"No we just probably picked the same thing, everyone else got different things" Jasmine reason

"Sure" I said and settled in my seat more. 

Ms. Gilmer talked some shit about finance and taking care of the family and shit. The bell rung and before I knew it, bell after bell it was the end of the day. I picked up my sister, which is a normal routine and went home. I didn't really give a shit about the formal but apparently my mom did becasue on my bed was a suit, and a black tie, oh boy! Honestly I don't even have a date, so I called up Carly and asked her over the phone. I know not so romantic, right? but either way she said yes.

I went downstairs and made a sandwich for myself and my sister. After eating, I watched some episodes of Adventure Time and I was ready to go...I showered and pulled on my suit, the walked out the door. Carly texted me her address and I went to pick her up. The we both drove to the damn thing. When I got out of the car I saw what Carly was wearing. She was wearing a short red dress with high shoes. I got in the place and it was actually decorated, ok. I took a seat and sat until, I would see Matthew. Then the doors opened and Jasmine looking like the most beautiful girl here came in wearing probably the opposite of what Carly was wearing.

My jar went slack and my eyeballs bulged. When she saw saw I was gaping he smirked and winked at me. I think Carly saw this encounter and huffed. I saw Matthew come in with Jasmine's friend Daniella and I was happy for them, they looked nice together. I heard that she excused herself to go to Jasmine and Matt said ok. I walked up to him.

"So, how's your date?" I asked him raising my eyebrows 

"Oh, I cant even describe it. She's just so amazing, funny and beautiful" Matt rambled on and on

"Ok, ok. I get it." I tell him, rolling my eyes

Matt blushed and said "Ok, right, sorry" 

I chuckled and shook my head. We talked a bit more and then someone came on the microphone and Matt and I stopped talking to listen.

"Hey, I am here to announce the king and queen of tonight!" Everyone cheered and I rolled my eyes

"So your king is............JACOB GRANT!"

I walked up to the stage annoyed, like why do they always have to pick me for these things!

"Your Queen is............JASMINE FOYER!" I looked at Jasmine who had just gotten up with a mile on her face. The microphone lady came to us and put the plastic shit on our heads. Then they went to play a slow song for Jasmine and I to dance to, this is what I was really excited for. We walked to the floor and I put my arms at her waist and she placed her hands on my shoulders. We started dancing and the I whispered in her ear

"You look beautiful, tonight" I smirked when I saw that she blushed 

"Thanks, you look handsome" She said looking down

I smiled "I know"

She looked up and glared at me, while I chuckled. I listened as she hummed along to the song.

I spinned her around when the song lyrics said that and she laughed. We swayed across the dance floor and soon the song was over and everyone clapped. Just as Jasmine was about to say something, out of no where Carly came and dumped punch all over her. Jasmine looked at Carly shocked and with tears in her eyes. Jasmine ran away and I saw Ash go out the doors and followed her. 

I turned to Carly "Why did you do that?" I asked angrily

"Babe, she was coming on to you" She said and tried to kiss me, but I pushed her away.\

"You shouldn't have done that" I shook my head at her and walked away

"Are you breaking up with me?" She yelled and everyone in the room looked at her then at me.

I simply said "We were never together" and drove home, leaving Carly without a ride. 

(AN: Jasmine and her friends formal dresses are on the side in chapter 7. This chapter has Carly's dress on the side and the song Jasmine and Jacob danced to.)
