Frozen In Time

Prologue

A quiet, blue gem sat on a bench made out of metal.
Lapis, her name, found this whole mission uncomfortable but she couldn't step out of her line of work. She wished she could tell other Lapis's like her about how unfair it was to get only her to terraform a planet by herself. The thing was, she couldn't. She was the first of her line of gems (some other Lapis's were still being tested in the ground), made specifically to see if terraforming was a good idea for planets. White diamond seemed to be ambitious about this whole new 'planet conquering' thing. She even considered creating new diamonds like her to help.

The entire ship rattled as her and her team entered the blue and green planets atmosphere. Landing wouldn't be smooth either, as technology on Homeworld was still trying to advance.

After entering the atmosphere safely Lapis rubbed at the gem at the back of her right hand, as if she was polishing it, and fixed her short dress. As she stood, a tall, buff green gem came over.

"My orders were to retrieve you."
The green gem said.

"I know, but I can very well get myself."
Lapis replied.

The green gem stood there and hesitated, obviously not have been talked back to before.

"I-I'm Aventurine."
She said.

"Lapis."

"Well I know you, everyone knows you as the first terraformer."
Aventurine said, eyes gleaming.

"You must be just emerged, right? I mean, I'm only a little over 100 years old, but you must be very new."
Lapis said.

"Yeah... I'm 10 years emerged now."
Aventurine sighed.

Lapis was just about to reply when they heard a shriek from the control room.

It was quickly learned that they were coming in too fast for a landing. All they could see was a plain white region, and...
