JIMIN
I sighed for the hundredth time now since the time we stepped in this bar. I wasn't really in the mood to go out but it was another one of those "blind dates" that Taehyung set up for me. He's been setting me up on blind dates ever since he got to know I was single. I've tried stopping him but it only leads to him nagging and everyone knows, better to say yes than to hear him nag so that's how I'm here again, in front of a new guy going on about something that I have no interest in. It's how it goes every time. Usually I try to maintain a good conversation just to be polite but today, I wasn't feeling it in me to do that. I won't deny, the guy was smart and knew how to make jokes but there was something missing. He wasn't him.
As I was trying to focus on my date, my eyes landed on a very familiar face in the crowd. My eyes widened when I realized who it was. My mouth went dry and everything zoned out, a red light went off in my head. Coming back to my senses I heard my date call my name looking worriedly at me. I stood up and excused myself to the bathroom and locked myself in a bathroom stall. My heartbeat was racing and frantically I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialled tae's number. He picked up after two rings.
"Hello Tae"
"Hey Jimin. What happened? Did that guy do anything to you? You fine right?"
"Yes, I'm fine and no, it isn't about that guy. It's about HIM"
"Him? Who???"
"My ex. He's here Tae"
The line went silent for a few seconds
"Do you want me to come pick you up?"
"No, it's okay I'll manage. I called you because I panicked and didn't know what to do. I just need a moment to breath and I'll be out from here once I'm sure I'm calm."
"Are you sure? Like really sure about it?"
"Yes Tae I am. Thank you so much for the support"
"Don't thank me. I'm your best friend and it's my duty to look after you"
"Awww. Umm Tae really sorry to interrupt you but I think I'll go now"
"Okay. Take care Jiminie and call me as soon as you reach home"
"I will"
With that I disconnected the call and stood there in the stall for another 10 minutes and then finally went out. I was really cautious now. I saw my date sipping on a drink alone, I felt bad and walked up to him and apologized for running away like that and also for this being the last time we romantically see each other. Surprisingly, the guy was very understanding and just nodded to what I said and gave me a sweet smile. It made me feel less bad about me rejecting him. Just as I was about to turn around and make my exit from the bar, a loud throat clearing and the ringing sound of a mic stopped me.
"Hello everyone."
It's him.
Jungkook
"I hope you all are enjoying yourselves. You might be thinking what I'm doing up here on the stage. Well to answer that, today I'm going to sing a song, for someone, someone who is really special to me, someone who isn't with me anymore and he is right here, in this bar.
Jimin, I hope you hear this"

I didn't realize I was crying the whole time he sang. His voice brought back all the memories of us that I tried repressing. I can't look at him, not right now, not after somehow getting my life in terms with his absence. Loud sobs left my mouth as I sprinted towards the exit without even looking at him. Cold air hit my face like a brick as I got out of the bar and tried to control the tears brimming out of my eyes.
"Jimin"
I turned around and there he was. He ran towards me and engulfed me in a hug. I was quick to wrap my arms around him and melted in his warmth. I really missed this. I really missed him. After god knows how long, we pulled apart. He too had tears in his eyes. He looked at me with a gaze so loving that I almost forgot that we weren't together anymore. I pulled apart as soon as I realized what I was doing and he looked at me confusingly. The next thing that came out of his mouth shocked me.
"Why did you leave me Jimin?"
"Excuse me, What? It wasn't me who left you. You broke up with me"
"I never broke up with you. You moved out of the apartment and then you left L.A. I tried finding you but you left no clue behind you. Do you even know how crazy I got without you?"
"Don't try to put the blame on me Jungkook. You broke up with me over voice message and told me that you never wanted to see me. That I should just leave and never show you my face ever again. Do you even have the idea of the pain that you gave me?"
By this time, I was crying again
"Wait. Voice message? Jimin, I never sent you any voice message of this sort and why would I even do that?"
He cupped my cheeks
"Baby I love you. I've never stopped loving you. I would never ever do anything like that to you. It would kill me. Do you have that message right now? I want to listen to it."
I nodded and took my phone out and played the voice message. His face distorted in anger after hearing it. He was fuming the moment it ended.
"That bxtch. I should have known her tricks"
"I don't get it. Who are you talking about?"
"You remember the girl in our drama club who was always clinging on to me"
I just nodded and encouraged him to go on
"Well, you see these lines were a part of the script and from what I'm guessing she must have recorded me rehearsing these lines and then sent it you, just to break us apart.
I can't believe it. I'm gonna kill her"
The screws in my head started working and everything now made sense. Jungkook never broke up with me. It was all just a big misunderstanding due to a problematic girl. I was so happy. I cried in joy.
"Baby I'm sorry you had to go through this. I'll make sure nothing breaks us up now. I love you. Will you be my boyfr-"
Before he could finish his sentence I jumped in his arms and kissed him. After all this time I needed him. Our lips moulded perfectly together and pulled each other close until there was no space left between us. His hands were wrapped tightly around my waist and mine were secured around his neck grazing the back of his head. We kissed until we couldn't take it anymore and pulled apart for air, resting our heads onto each other. I was smiling like an idiot while gasping. Same look of contentment plastered on both of our faces.
"I love you too Jungkook"
