We Share Our Broken Minds

I didn't notice you,
for some time.
But now I can't stop thinking of your
broken mind.

Death took everything
away from you.
Don't worry,
I know how that feels too.
It makes you blue.

No fair.
I know what you're trying to do.
But each time I take some of her sadness to share,
I bite off more than I can chew.

If I try again,
what are the consequences?
I hope it's worth it.
And not too expensive.

I'm now watching you
from afar.
Hope some time has healed
your bleeding scars.

I know you take
a long time to heal.
That's okay, darling,
it's fine to feel.
You don't have to kneel

To death.
'Cause every single inhale
tries to take away your breath.

But they won't
get you yet.
'Cause you're strong
and won't give in
to this threat.

Your broken mind
can still heal.
It may take some time,
but the wound will seal.

I hope you won't do something
that you'll regret.
You can be
so much greater instead.
Please don't forget.

No fair.
I know what you're trying to do.
But each time I take some of her sadness to share,
I bite off more than I can chew.

Don't worry,
I know how that feels too.
It makes you blue.

But I'll find a way to help you.
So hold on
until I do.
