Chapter 11

(The next day)

Ryland's POV

Brain: dude, just call her
Me: I don't know about this
Brain: trust me. have i ever steered you wrong?
Me: no
Brain: exactly. now CALL HER
Me: fine

I pick up my phone after i have a little debate with myself on whether i should call Lori or not.

I dial her number.

"It's ringing...it's ringing..." i think to myself.
Finally she picks up.
Lori: hello?

Me: hey Lori! it's Ryland

Lori: oh hey!

Me: whatcha doin?

Lori: nothing much. just cleaning my room.

Me: oh. I can call back later if you want.

Lori: no no! that's okay. what's up?

Me: oh nothing. i just uhh.. wanted to see if you wanted to go to.. um... dinner tonight.. with me.

Lori: like a date?

Me: yeah. unless your not okay with that. then we could just go as friends.

Lori: oh no. I'd love to go on a date with you.

Me: cool! so I'll pick you up around 8 ish?

Lori: sure! my Address is 2840 Marlin Road.

Me: okay. cool! see you around 8

Lori: okay

Me: okay

Lori: okay...

Me: have you seen The Fault In Our Stars?

Lori: yes! i love that movie! and the book! why?

Me: just wandering...

Lori: okay. bye!

"Bye" i say hanging up the phone smiling.

After thunking for a few seconds after our phone call i look at my phone.
"5:00!!!!" I scream jumping up.

'I need to get ready!' i think to myself.

I grab my clothes for a shower and bump into Rocky in the hall way.

"Hey lil bro" he says.

"Hi" i say.

He heads towards the bathroom.

"Rocky!!!" i scream running after him.

"What?" he says turning around.

"Can i pleaseee take a shower first" i say.

"Whyyy?" he asks concerned.

"Because.. I.. I have a date tonight." i say shyly.

"Does mom and dad know about this little date of yours?" Rocky asks.

"Crap!! i forgot to tell them" i say.

"Haha. Relax Ryland. you go take your shower and I'll tell Mom and Dad for you." he says.

"Thanks Rocky." i say hugging him.

"Hey? what are big brothers for" he says smiling.

I smile back and walk into the bathroom.

After my shower i head back to my room and lock the door.

'Okay. what am I going to wear'? I think to myself.

I drag out all of my clothes until i stumble upon the perfect outfit.

I change quickly and head back to the bathroom. by that time Rocky was already out of the shower so i could take as long as i needed in the bathroom.

I did my hair, put on cologne, and brushed my teeth.

After i was done i checked the time.
It was 7:00. which means i have an hour until I need to pick up Lori.
But then I realized... Lori's house is on the other side of town.
So i rush to my car passing Mom and Dad and drive to Lori's house.

I made it there just in time.
7:59 read the clock on my stereo in my car.

I hop out of the car and walk up to her door. I extend my nervously shaking arm to knock on the door.

After a moment, she opens the door.

My mouth drops open and I can't take my eyes off of her.
She was GORGEOUS.

"are you ready?" she asked.

"Yeah." i say still looking at her.

"Arrreee you okay?" She asks.

"Yeah. it's just.. you look so.. Beautiful." i say.

"Thank you" she says smiling.

"Your welcome" i say.

She smiles, looks down, and tucks her hair behind her ear like she did on the drop tower. it was cute.

"Shall we?" i say extending my elbow.

She smiles again and wraps her arm through mine.

I walk her all the way to my car then open the door for her.

"Why thank you" she says sounding proper and climbing into the passenger seat.

I shut the door, run to the other side, and hop in.

'This is going to be an amazing night' i think to myself.
