When the fire gets doused Stoick ran to Toothless, he was fine. Stoick got all teary eyed and the fact that his son, only just a boy, was dead. Merida was devastated she came back to be with her friends and one died. Toothless then lifted his wing revealing that he had Hiccup. Stoick lifted Hiccup up to his ear, Hiccup was alive. Toothless saved him.
"Well most of him." Gobber commented.
After a few days Merida and Astrid went to see if Hiccup had awoken, he had and was terrified when he saw Toothless was in his house and outside there were dragons everywhere. The girls explained how everyone had a dragon of their own and everything that happened. He was also shocked when he got up and noticed his leg, peg leg. the one thing that the girls neglected to mention.
