mothers natures weeps,
letting her tears soak into the
browning grass,
flooding the rising rivers.
her child is dying,
her masterpiece is crumbling,
daring to combust into flames
or to be melted by lava.
she coughs because she can't
breathe in the air that used to
carry the sweet scent of her wildflowers.
her most majestic of creatures are
no longer to exist.
our mother is in pain,
grieving over the loss of her only child.
if only her tears didn't turn to acid
when it fell upon the decaying body
of her kin.
