I've never experienced pain like this, nothing could ease it. I continuously made the effort to resist the call, but the more I did, the stronger it got.
There was no need to tell the group of my...situation, because it would only lead to more trouble. Thinking of the struggle we already faced, I kept this to myself, hoping this wouldn't consume me. If I did, then I wouldn't be eating myself from the inside out, but nothing but possibly the teeth of my makeshift family would be left on the path we had walked.
