UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS
I had a bad feeling in my chest as i walked to class, It felt like the day had been jinxed. The weather was in a dilemma not sure if it wanted to rain.
The lecture theater seemed big as i looked around for my friends, i sighed at the thought of having to attend the long boring class all by my self.
After the class, i decided to stay back and finish up my project
I was half way through when i heard the familiar voice call my name.
i look up to see Sade standing in front of me.
I see you are struggling with your assignment again.
she said, placing her bag on the table.
I stared at her not saying a word.
Have you seen Timi today? She asked.
I shrugged and returned back to my assignment.
She looked at me confused.
I read her expression but couldn't say a word even if i wanted too.
Dunni!
What's with the sign language. She said sounding irritated.
I realised i couldn't keep mute the whole day, so i wrote on a piece of paper and gave it to her
Can't talk, I have a growing tooth, it hurts...
Are you like twelve?
She said and handed me back the paper.
I gestured an insult, but she obviously did not understand as she rolled her eyes at me.
I saw her take out her cell Phone to call, i knew she was speaking to Timi when she repeated 'you just got back from another break?'.
After i finished my project assignment, Sade and i left for Timi's place.
we knew he wouldn't travel home without getting us goodies.
At the time we got there, he had just finished having his bath. I and Sade got bored as we saw him flex his muscles trying to show off.
He always thought of him self as the hottest guy in school, it sounded annoying each time he said it, but was partly true. Girls in school wanted to be our friends just so they could get close to Timi, he was like the golden boy. His parents were rich plus he was good looking.
I glared as he blabbed about how he would be the next Idris Elba and how he planned on taking over the world with his good looks.
It's unlike you not to give compliments about my good looks. He stood shirtless in front of me
You've only been wasting your time, Sade said
she can't even talk, apparently, she has a growing tooth.
Hon, Is that true? Timi asked, looking worried
I nodded..
Does it hurt?
I nodded again...
We should go to the clinic.
I shook my head and reached into my bag for my medication.
See! She already has medication, now what did you get for us, Sade stood up heading towards the brown paper bag on the table.
Are you sure you're okay? He asked again.
Can you stop! I moaned.
I felt a sharp pain in my gum immediately i opened my mouth. I held my chin like i was preventing the tooth from falling out.
Am sorry, i didn't mean to make you talk, i was just trying to make sure you're okay.
he looked at me regretful of his actions.
I saw sadness on his face, i knew i shouldn't have spoken to him the way i did.
I took a book from my bag and wrote on a piece of paper 'am sorry' i saw his face lit up immediately he read it.
