chapter 1: results

Izuku's POV:

I'm waiting for the results. results for what? you may ask. I took a test to get into UA high school. this is the school of my dreams. if I get in I'll be starting in the middle of the 2nd quarter. the only reason I haven't applied to UA at the beginning of the year was me and my mom moved away before I could.

we moved to Utah in the United States. since UA has dorms for it's school where the students live during the school year I could have just stayed in japan, but I didn't want to be that far away from my mom though. so, I went with her and I went to an american school there. I learned English too.

we then decided to move back to japan because my mom got a good job offer there. since my mom is basically single and raising me she decided to take the job offer. so we moved back to japan and then I applied to UA.

my mom fully supports my decision on this and even helped me study. since it was the middle of the 2nd quarter I had to work harder if I wanted to get in. I finally took the test and now I'm waiting for the letter to come in the mail to see if I got rejected or got in.

UA is one of the top schools and very hard to get into. it has academic stats as well as sports. you need an above average IQ or you need an above average skill at a sport. if you don't have either it's almost certain you won't get in.

for me I am betting on my brains. not that I don't have a good sports skill. I do well at soccer but not well enough for UA. I am fairly smart though so I'm hoping that I might have a chance to get in on that.

on the chance I do get in I would have to move into a dorm as I mentioned before. you only live in dorms during the school year. for winter, summer, fall, and spring break you get to go home and spend it with your family. winter and summer break are 3 weeks long where as spring and fall are 1 week.

along with the dorms you get a roommate. the roommate stays with you the entire time you both go to school as long as one of them doesn't leave or one of you don't apply for a new one. usually though they tell you to suck it up and deal with it. I'm hoping I'll have a nice roommate if I get in or at least one I can tolerate.

I know before I left that kacchan got into UA, me and him used to be childhood friends but after elementary he started to bully me. so, maybe if I got kacchan I might have to apply for a new roommate but even then I probably wouldn't.

me and my mom live together right now. my mom works as a pharmacist at a pharmaceutical company. she knows a lot about medicine and gets paid a decent amount. she's not very high in the place she works so she doesn't make as much as some others do, but she makes enough for me and her to be stable.

I wish someday to buy her a wonderful house where she can have a nice flower garden like she wanted. right now we live in a two bedroom studio apartment. I'm thinking that if I get into UA then I'll be able to get any job.

I want to be a surgeon or more specifically a orthopedic surgeon. I've always wanted to save lives and be a hero. I thought about becoming a detective or cop but decided my mom would have a hear attack if I told her so I decided I would help in a different way.

I would save lives in the ER. I would also make enough to support me and my mom. so this way everyone wins. the comic ALL MIGHT was what inspired me. he was a super hero who saved people with a smile. I wanted to do that too. so I studied and worked hard and now I wait until my results come in.

"Izuku! Come here please!" I hear my mom yell. I went into the kitchen and could smell dinner. "I made your favorite"

"thanks mom." I tell her as we sit down and eat.

"still no letter?" she asks. I nod in response. she sighs. "don't lose hope. you're very smart and very qualified."

"maybe but I'm stating in the middle of the 2nd quarter. I have a very small chance of even making it in. I'm sure most of the people there anyway are way smarter than me and they probably have enough people as smart as me so they won't need me" I say.

"oh please, of course they need you. you are way smarter than anyone I've ever known and I know quite a few smart people. I'm sure you'll get in and if you don't then they made the biggest mistakes of their lives." she tells me. I give her a smile and finish my food.

after dinner I start to do the dishes while my mom checks the mail. "bills, bills, bills..." I hear my mom mumble as she goes through it. I finish drying the plates as I hear, "IZUKU! LOOK!" I nearly drop the plate at the volume. I put it away and head over to my mom.

"LOOK! YOUR LETTER!" she continues to yell while she hands me the letter. my heart starts to race. I open the letter but hesitate to read it. "go on, go on!" my mom tells me. I start to read the letter out loud.

Dear Mr. Izuku Midoriya

we would like to inform you that you have been accepted into UA high school based on your grades and IQ. we have also seen your extra curricular activites including but not limited to: soccer, chess, and baseball and would like to say we are slightly impressed.

we have made our final decision based on your academics. since you will be starting during the middle of the 2nd quarter you will have to catch up and you will have to find your own sources of this.

at UA we have strict policies of attendance, grades, dress codes and others. if you miss and or late to class more than 3 times with out specific permission of a teacher, doctor or administrator you will be expelled. if you have any lower than a 85% you will be expelled. if you have to be reminded more than once about the dress code you will be expelled.

we have more rules in the rule book and their consequences if broken which we delivered and should arrived to you. we have other papers for you like your classes and dorm room delivered as well.
