Paityn woke up in her bed curled up slightly in a ball. It had been at least a week since she got Lena put in prison. Paityn was around 2 weeks along. Not showing quite yet but Paityn was preparing. Pearl and Sean were still the only two who knew. Paityn was waiting in case the worst happened.

Paityn walked downstairs into her kitchen. She also hadn't eaten too much. Morning sickness set in and she struggles to eat somethings. Paityn sighed grabbing an apple. Soon, Sean was going to find out and she did not want that to happen.

"Dammit, Paityn. Get a hold of yourself." Paityn murmured to herself. Lyra meowed and came up to her as she sat down on the couch. Paityn was on call if they needed her, which she knew they would at some point. Lyra jumped on her lap and spun once laying down on her lap. Paityn smiled a small bit while gently petting her back. Lyra purred and nuzzled her stomach gently. "You can sense the little one. It'll be alright." Paityn smiled. Her phone began ringing and she picked it up carefully. "Burkhardt."

"Morning Fellas," Franco said to the trio as they walked in. Paityn had her brown leather jacket zipped up for once attempting to hide her stomach. The bump wasn't exactly visible but Paityn didn't want to take chances. "This is Ed and Lois Weller. Married 26 years. Ed here is a lumber exec, recently took early retirement. Probably not what he had planned huh? We got lots of prints. Techs even found one partial in blood." Franco said.

"Somebody was feeling ambitious," Hank said. Paityn shrugged.

"That's not like a knife wound," Nick said.

"It looks like he was clawed open. Ouch." Paityn said.

"Too savage for a 'B' and 'E'. Something else was going on here." Hank stated. "Drugs maybe?" He asked as Nick and Paityn went over to a steak that was on the ground.

"The steak's raw?" Paityn asked even though it was a rhetorical question.

"Looks like someone was gnawing on it," Nick said. Hank walked over to Lois's body.

"Animal could've gotten in here after. The door was open." Hank suggested.

"Why would it have left the steak behind?" Paityn asked.

Nick and Hank were walking up the hill. Paityn stayed by the car waiting and watching. Nick came back with an evidence bag. He lifted it.

"What do you got?" Paityn asked.

"Something from a horse saddle maybe?" Nick shrugged.

"Horse saddle? These guys don't own horses." Paityn said motioning to the house.

"I know. That's why we're taking it to evidence." Hank said.

Paityn got back to work getting a phone call and she answered it.

"Burkhardt." She said as she sat down at her desk.

"Hey! Just wanted to check in to see how you were doing." She heard Pearl say. Paityn smiled a small bit. Pearl and Paityn had gotten closer through this.

"By me, you mean...it don't you?" Paityn smiled.

"The baby isn't an It Paityn," Pearl said.

"Yeah, well, technically I'm not preggers till 4 weeks along, and as far as I know I'm 2 weeks and 5 days," Paityn said trying to do the math.

"Ah, keeping track eh?" Pearl said.

"Yes. I am preparing myself for absolutely everything." Paityn said. Nick walked in and Paityn cursed under her breath. "I gotta go. Nick is here." She said and she hung up before Pearl could say anything else.
