Chapter 2: Tord takes it too far

(Thalia wakes up an hour later. Tord picks her up and feeds her)

Tord Pov: I decided to start a family because of my people and my husband. I never thought I would grow so attached to her so soon. Now I understand how it feels. You would do anything for her. You would kill anyone for her. I love her. I'll protect her forever. No matter the cost. I would keep her locked inside where I can keep her safe. Yeah..... No one will hurt her then.

Tom: (Opens his eyes) Tord?

Tord: Yes, my queen?

Tom: Why are you talking to yourself?

Tord: Just thinking out loud, love. (He lays down and puts Thalia on his chest. She opens her eyes. They're an emerald green like Tord's. He smiles) She's so precious when she opens her beautiful eyes. Love?

Tom: Yes?

Tord: W-what if I decided, to protect her, that I would keep her here in the palace? Just theoretically.

Tom: I don't know.... She wouldn't get a lot of sunlight. Nor would she see the beautiful flowers or the animals and the wonderful things outside.

Tord: Yeah..... (A month later he orders some people to make a garden with plenty of animals) Tom my queen.

Tom: Yes?

Tord: Come I want to show you something. (Takes him outside to the garden that resembles a section of forest blocked off by a wall and bullet proof glass overhead. There are birds, squirrels, chipmunks even deer roaming around. Tom looks at him in shock) What do you think, my love?

Tom: Tord... what is this?

Tord: Now we can keep Thalia here with us forever. (Takes his hands)

Tom: Tord, no. We can't! We can't lock her up in here!

Tord: I will not take a risk! I'm sorry, Tom but I don't have a choice! I will not lose her! She'll be safe here! Just give it a chance!

Tom: ....... Tord....

Tord: Please, my love.

Tom: (Hugs him) O-ok....
