I waited
Today, throughout English
For a text from you,
A message to say
You got there safe.
And I shouldn't complain
But every single time
My phone buzzed
I would look at it
Hopeful, wondering if
This would be the time
If this time you would
Send a text, a message
And I have to be honest,
Everytime it want you
My heart broke
A little more.
And I get it, you
Were busy, had to
Go through
Security, to
Get on your
Flight.
But it's been hours
And even though I know
I shouldn't, with
Every minute that
Passed, I
Miss you
A little more.

Ok, so this is my first time sharing anything on here, and I thought I should start with one of my earliest pieces (hence the date)
I'm going to try and date each piece so you know when I wrote it, as these poems will jump around the place a bit and my style changes a lot over the years.
