I roll around in my bed, trying to cancel out the high pitched squeals, coming from downstairs, which seem to get closer with every second. "Mikayla, get up already!", Keesha yells at me right after she busts into my room. I grab my phone from my nightstand, checking the time, the numbers on the screen causing me to groan. It was only 8 am, what the hell was she doing up already. Keesha coming over was a daily thing, which usually started around noon. Being here this early was only a thing when we had to go to school but not in the first week of summer break. "C'mon, get up already! Have you heard the announcement yet!? Did they tweet it already!? Oh god, how can you even sleep on a day like this!?", she says as she starts jumping on my bed, clearly not giving a damn about that fact that i was still half asleep. "What announcement are you even talking about?", i manage to get out as i cuddle further into my blanket. "Are you freakin' kidding me?! What do you mean, what announcement", she says in a shocked tone, "5sos are announcing their contest thingy, you know what i mean!". I jump up, nearly falling out of my bed. "That is today!? You could have said that in the first place!", i yelled as my heart started racing. I reach under my bed and grab my MacBook from under my bed, going straight to the band's Twitter account. "Here, listen!", i squeal as the excitement takes over me, "they literally just tweeted this. Hey guys, as we told you in the last twitcam, we're putting up a contest in which you can win a year on tour with us. All you gotta do is write a letter why we should pick you for #OnTheRoadWith5SOS. "So you're gonna write that you want to take your super amazing, one and only, absolutely hilarious best friend Keesha, right?", Keesha says, flipping her brown hair from side to side. "Only if you tell 'em that you wanna have your most badass and incredibly awesome best friend, who is also known as Mikayla Jasmine Andersen, on the road with ya!", i say, copying her actions and also flipping my hair.
