Assalam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu!

It's great to see so many new books come up this year, and we're glad to be working with you to bring out the "Best Muslim" stories on Wattpad! And while we churn the wheels of your success and add sprinkles to our decisions, take a look at the Marking Criteria we're using for all your books. It's a little different from last year, and much more fair. Here you go!:

FOR NOVELS

Title: __/5 [Marks given out of five.] Good titles almost always lead to a good story. We've heard that writing the title first helps you write your story, and you know that it is true! But beware of the cliché ones! We don't want you sounding like you stepped out of a "bad boy" book with an "innocent hijabi" following his footsteps.

Cover: __/10 [Marks given out of ten.] This is the eye-catcher, the important interest-giving component of a story book. We all know nobody abides by the "don't judge a book by it's cover" rule anymore, especially on Wattpad. And guess what? It plays the biggest part ever in deciding if you really want to read the book or not!

Description: __/10 [Marks given out of ten.] Of course, when we finish looking at the cover, we read the description. This one really decides how many reads you get. And the best way is to keep a #MustReadFurther line in there somewhere, that'll help you get more readers... And more points in The Rahma Awards! 😉🤭

Plot: __/20 [Marks given out of twenty.] The last three points may be amazing, but it's the story that matters most at the end of the day. The rich content of delicately packed lessons sewed between lines of entertainment makes us happy! And if you've got a good plot, you've got a good story! 😍

Grammar: __/5 [Marks given out of five.] Honestly speaking, this might just be one of the things that gets you to the top. There are many beginners on Wattpad, but we're looking for those are serious with their work. It's not about just the spelling, we're looking at good sentence and paragraph structure too. And don't get your hopes up with the filler chapters, write what's required! ✍️

Rating: __/50 [Marks given out of fifty.] This one is more opinion-based. Almost half of the marks are based on the reader's interest in your story. The time a reader takes out if their life for your book, the time they spend while reading your book, it's enjoyment, the Islamic benefits, the subconscious impacts are counted under this part of the marking scheme! Does your story make the reader do this: 🤯 or 😴? Hmmm... 🤔

Results will be out in November, In Shaa Allah! As we've got so many entries this year, the judges will have to take 2 months to go through the marking criteria for each book! And we can't wait to tell you the results! Before that, we have many little things to cover, so don't forget us yet! And after the results, you'll see winner interviews being posted in this very book. So stay tuned!

Until then,

May Allah keep us all safe and bestow His Mercy and Blessings on all of us.

Ameen.
