unwinding
a memory of lights and chocolate
my heart heavy and false lips pushing at words like daisies
ears full of not-noise, indistinguishable voices that could belong to someone i know
and now the music starts. my palms are sweaty and black with the remnants of something soft and beautiful
sweet crumbs fall to my lap and i brushed them off, not treasuring
a hand weeps and clenches my ribs
rips them out and buries them in the land i kissed
