I love the Fall Season. It has always been my favorite since I was a child. It gives me a nostalgic feeling every time it comes around. And this year was no different. I was turning 30 soon, and Fall had just begun. I had planned a special getaway trip with just myself. It was to New York City. I had a great hotel room, and plans to relax and bring in my birthday with no one but me.

I have always been alone. I was adopted by wonderful people and never knew my real parents. They were together for 20 years and then got divorced. I was fourteen at the time of the divorce, and chose to stay with my mother. After the bitter divorce, my dad passed away from a heart attack. Ten years later my mom got breast cancer and died six months after her diagnosis. I had no siblings and was basically alone. No friends. No other family. Just me and my thoughts.

Five years ago, I started dating this guy. His name was Andre. Andre McGee. We met at a banquet for the company I work for. After a few months of courting, or texting and chilling, we began to officially date. Then, after our five year dating anniversary, I found out he had been cheating on me with one of the girls I worked with. It did hurt. A lot. The girl resigned from her job, and once I dumped Andre and kicked him out, they moved from LA to Las Vegas. We were supposed to be celebrating my 30th birthday together, but here I am, on a flight to New York City alone.

Arriving at the hotel, I noticed thousands of people outside the hotel. It seemed strange but I shrugged and kept on with my business. As I was checking in, I accidentally bumped into a strong chest and nearly fell but was caught by a pair of strong arms.

"Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" a voice says to me. It was a male voice, with a British accent and sounded familiar. After blinking my eyes, I look up to see piercing blue eyes, that if you stared too long you'd feel like you're swimming in the ocean. After making out the face, my heart skips a few beats when I realize who had caught me.

"Um... Yes. I'm fine. Thank you." I stammer as he helps me up on my feet. After getting my composure I smile at him and he smiles at me back.

"Oh good. What's your name by chance?" he asks, waiting for my response.

"Uh... Rachel. Rachel Webber." I respond, stammering to get the words out. He smiles and extends his hand to me.

"I'm Tom. Tom Hiddleston." He says. I shake his hand, nodding and smiling to hide my nervousness.

"Nice to meet you." I say, not being able to say anything else. He didn't let my hand go right away and our eyes connected in a gaze. It felt a bit magical, like we were the only two people in the world. There was a silence that seemed to go on forever until a voice broke into it.

"Tom we gotta get going." A man says patting him on the shoulder. Tom looks over at him then back at me.

"Uh right." he says. "It was nice meeting you Rachel. I hope we meet again soon." He smiles before being ushered away. I watched him as he walked out into the crowd of girls. They instantly began to scream. He smiles and waves at them before getting into the dark vehicle waiting for him. After a few seconds of staring, I headed to the counter to check in.

After getting settled in, I took a hot bath and drank some champagne. I had a birthday dinner planned with just myself. Intimate and special. Once I was dry from my bath, I began to get dressed.
