America's alarm clock went off, blaring in his ears.
It's summer... why is my alarm going off?
He smacked the alarm, turning it off and nuzzling back into the warmth of his bed.
His return to sleep was interrupted when he heard his door creak open.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" His family members all yelled in unison.
"WHAT THE-" He fell out of bed, crashing to the floor.
"Ah! Sorry Meri! We heard your alarm and thought you were awake," Canada apologized.
"You thought wrong," he sighed. New Zealand and Australia helped him up.
"We made you crepes!" France piped up.
"Oh?" America went from tired to alert when his mother mentioned her cooking.
They all went down the stairs, Aussie and Kiwi were leading America excitedly into the kitchen.
America was overjoyed to see the large plate of the delicious thin pancakes folded and filled, and covered, with his favorite toppings. Nutella and bananas~ not everyone's cup of tea, but America loved it.
America sat down at the table and tore into the crepes with his knife, piercing a chunk with his fork and stuffing it in his mouth. The warm, gooey Nutella and sweet bananas made a perfect combination!
"Glad to see you're enjoying it," France laughed.
The family sat down, all enjoying their crepes, France made sure everyone had their favorite. Britain had eggs and bacon in his, Canada had brown sugar cinnamon with maple syrup, New Zealand had strawberries and cream cheese, and Australia had sausage and eggs. France herself enjoyed the same as New Zealand.
America diverted his attention from his breakfast to his brother, whose birthday was a few days before him.
"Hey Nada, where should we go for Birthday Dinner?" America ate another piece of crepe.
"I was thinking we make something here this year," Canada said amused.
"What? Really?" Every year the brothers and their family went out for dinner to celebrate both of their birthdays, but this year Canada wanted it to be different.
"I mean it's not a bad idea," France smiled happily, "we could cook as a family!"
"You're right, I think it's to time to shake things up a little," America nodded as he said it.
Once everyone finished their breakfast, America thanked his mother and went to get dressed. He decided to go with a NASA shirt and some camo shorts. As he slipped on a pair of of army boots, his phone chimed.
He picked it up, checking to see who it was, it was Japan! Japan and him have been waiting for America's birthday to see if they're soulmates! They wouldn't truly know until hers next February, but they always got along so well it could be possible.
She told him to check Snapchat. Well her exact words were, 'Check your snap!!! \(^o^)/' America always laughed at how creative she was when it came to making her own emojis.
He switched to Snapchat and found pics sent to him from Japan.
One was of her with a flower filter flashing peace signs with the caption 'happy birthday bestie!!' The rest we're old pics of him and all his close friends doing random stuff and posing. He looked at all his other messages, he got plenty of other happy birthday messages. But... they all didn't really care, they were really just streaks and some empty messages. All his close friends, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, and Israel all had pretty heart felt ones though. He decided to look through some people's stories to see who was doing what and maybe some parties he could get into to.When he landed on Germany's story he saw a pic of him and Russia hanging out, and for some reason he couldn't describe, it made his heart squeeze.
At first America was confused and then brushed it off as his hatred for Russia. He shut off his phone and dropped it in his pocket. He put that weird occurrence in the back of his mind and made his way down the stairs. After all, he was going to spend all day with his family today!

(I love it. :D)
(Canada is 17 and America is 18, America was held back a grade in elementary because he got in so many fights so they're both seniors in HS, does that make sense? I sure hope it does!)
