Independence Day.

I smile to myself when I finish my email to my mom that read:

Dear Mom,

Yes everything is fine. Dad is still acting 'religious', I'm kind of cool with Cindy, Ava has a different side -- a wild one cx and I'm still interested in that boy. He asked me out and I said yes, yet Dad doesn't know about that yet and he won't ever know so please don't say anything.

Cal told me everything that happened. I'm going to just tell you bits and pieces okay? I don't want you to judge him or me for our decisions.

His parents died and he lives with his sister, Mali-Koa.

There. Another fact.

Okay well, I'm going to email you some more later. Ava needs help with her outfit for her and Michael's date and Cindy needs help with catering for tonight. They're having some lame party that everyone but Michael, Calum, Ashton, and Luke are invited to. Ava and I are planning on meeting them at the lake for our own celebration (:

I press Send and I close out my email and shut my laptop. I already had my outfit picked out for tonight. Just some mildly ripped jean shorts, a neon green spaghetti strap, worn Converse, and a light, white parka if it gets cold, which it most likely will.

"Ava!" I yell.

Moments later Ava walks in smoothly. "Yeah?"

"Do you have any idea what my dad and Cindy are doing?"

She nodded sullenly. "They're bringing everything down to the beach."

My eyeballs practically popped out of my head. "What?! What's wrong with this place?"

She shrugs. "They want a change of scenery I guess. We can just bring the guys here."

I nod. "Okay. Yeah, let's do that."

A smirk makes its way across Ava's face. "Wait, is the great Liv Emerson actually nervous?"

"Hell no!" I roll my eyes and grin. No shit I'm nervous! I bite my lip and I follow Ava into her room.
