JJ sat at her desk, a stack of unread case files looming over her. She sighed before reaching for her coffee. She wasn't looking and proceeded to knock the paper cup over, spilling the lukewarm liquid all over her desk.
"Shit," she exclaimed, standing up to retrieve paper towel. When she got back, she picked up one of the folders and began to dab it dry, then the label caught her eye. She opened it up and started reading.

Hotchner unpacked the last few items from his briefcase. The team arrived home from a case a few days ago, but with his paperwork and commitments with Jack, he neglected to get himself organized in a timely manner.
He was about to sit down and check his email when there was a soft knock on his door. "Come in," he said.
JJ entered, carrying a small folder, stained with coffee. "Hi Hotch, you got a second?"
Hotchner smiled. "For you JJ, two seconds. Please." He gestured to the chair opposite his, and the two sat down.
JJ, still holding the folder, smiled nervously. "Now, this is going to sound odd, but I think I have a case here."
Hotchner furrowed his brow. "Think? Was the team invited in?"
"Not necessarily," was JJ's response. "I've sort of been following this one on my own." She opened the casefile and began presenting. "There have been reports, from all over the country, of these two men impersonating FBI Agents in order to gain access to violent crime scenes."
"Why hasn't the bureau flagged this before?" Hotch reached for the file, which JJ was happy to hand over.
"Well, they flash the credentials, talk to a few witness, and then disappear, but here's the kicker; when local law enforcement is asked about FBI presence, they either say they left before anything was solved, or they deny ever having seen the men."
"So we're assuming these men have some sort of leverage or a way to blackmail them?"
"That's one theory, but a lot of the denial almost seems to be coming from a place of loyalty..."
Hotchner pulled a grainy, black and white surveillance photo from the file. "See if Garcia can clean this image up and get a hit on it."
JJ thanked Hotchner and took the photo.

"I know these guys are impersonating Federal Agents which is a no no, but even in this grainy photo I can tell these boys are F-I-N-E!" Garcia's fingers flew across the keyboard as she ran the image through every possible program and software.
JJ smiled, she always appreciated Penelope Garcia's sunny attitude. Sometimes, when the cases got really ugly, Garcia's wit and banter was the only thing that would keep the team grounded. "I appreciate you taking the time to do this Penelope," JJ said, giving her friends shoulder a squeeze.
Garcia smiled ear-to-ear. "Any time my Venti Blonde Latte. I'm always open to a case that doesn't involve monsters or is caked in blood spatter."
JJ nodded. "Gotta agree with you on that one."
The two stared at the screen, watching eagerly as the image became clearer and clearer.
Finally, there was a hit, the two men came to life on screen. One of them was tall, hair passed his ears, dark trench coat.
JJ laughed. "Well right off the bat we know these guys are fake," she teased. "That hair is not up to code."
The second man was shorter, but looked more weathered than the taller one. His outer appearance was more federal.
Garcia's face fell. "Oh no no no no no..."
JJ furrowed her brow. "What? Do you know these guys?"
Garcia began to type viciously. "Okay, so a couple of years ago there was a string of mass shootings across the country. They were always filmed and always posted online, be it live stream or posted later on YouTube. The perpetrators were two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester." Garcia pulled up one of the videos, depicting the two men in a diner, instructing the teenage boy to film their murderous rampage. They announced themselves as the Winchester brothers, and began murdering the patrons.
JJ felt her stomach churn. "Why weren't we alerted about this?"
Garcia shrugged. "Well, for one, the case didn't require a profile because it wasn't a mystery who they were, for another the brothers were caught in what was an apparent suicide by cop.." Garcia pulled up two digital scans of death certificates. "Sam and Dean Winchester have been dead for almost six years."
