I've always craved a love, one that consumes you but then I snap back into reality, realising I'm the nobody. Unfortunately, I don't see myself finding love anytime soon, well, unless I got some plastic surgery done. I have a self hatred for myself. Who hasn't in today's society? I'm a smart girl- I'll give myself credit- however that doesn't make me feel any better, if anything it makes me feel worse. Geek. Nerd. The usual remarks. Everyday at school. Constantly. I'm used to it by now. I've became numb to it, whether that's a good thing or not, I do not know.
Seven o'clock. Rise and shine. A new glorious day ahead at my marvellous school (minor lie). Physical education first period, great. I quickly shower and get dressed, throwing my school uniform on as normal. I glance at myself in the mirror, unable to maintain eye contact with myself.
"I look decent," i shrug. I adjust my tie, brush my hair then apply a thin layer of makeup. I refuse to look like a clown. Of course I care about my appearance, who doesn't? I'm just not confident.
The school bell rings for first period and I instantly sigh. Slowly, I make my way to P.E. I take the longest route possible. When I finally arrive Miss Smith awaits me.
"What took you so long, Ava?" she snaps.
"Needed the toilet, Miss." I lied.
"You should have went before you arrived here, common sense girl!" she bellowed. Jesus someone hasn't had their breakfast this morning. I decided not to argue today because I was in enough trouble. I quickly get changed into my gym clothes and make my way to where my class was. The perks of being late means all eyes are on you as soon as you step through the door. Amazing! Luckily, I had a friend to keep me going and making school remotely bearable.
"Ava, get your ass over here bitch!" she giggles.
Yup. That's my best friend Kate. My one and only friend. She's obviously the more popular one out of us two. She dresses all preppy and you can see she has good fashion sense even when she has to wear school uniform. Somehow she styles it in such a way. I'm jealous.
"Right class, teams of 4 for basketball. Mini tournament. Let's go! Let's go!" she yells.
"Right so obviously I'm stuck with you in my team." Kate laughs.
"Yeah, you won't be saying that when I take the spotlight." I smirk.
Everyone mostly had their groups except us of course. God wasn't on my side today when I heard Miss Smith pair us with Nathaniel Dallas and Carlos Rivera. Two. Fucking. Bad. Boys.
The ultimate bad boys. The gang boys. I shivered when I even heard their names.
The boys didn't seem to fussed though.
"Good luck taking their spotlight." Kate laughs.
I examine them. Wow they were hot. Fuck. Why did they have to be so hot! You could see their chiseled abs through their t-shirts. Their jaws sharp enough to cut a bitch. They both had different eyes yet they were both so god damn attractive.
Nathaniel had those ocean eyes you could stare into forever and never get bored. It felt like the waves were crashing in. I felt like I was drowning unable to come up for air. Cringe. I know. Whereas Carlos was the opposite he had warm chocolate eyes that you just found so sweet. The warm honey made you instantly feel like you should drop to your feet. They were so soft.
I snapped back into reality. We were arranging ourselves into positions when suddenly a felt a presence behind me. I never had time to turn around because Nathaniel was right there about to whisper in my ear.
"You better be good, Ava." he breathed.
My heart was going 1560281mph. Cardiac arrest here I come. God help me. Those god damn ocean eyes made me want to melt. Despite having such deep coloured eyes he sure knows how to turn them into icy daggers. I knew this because I was the one getting those icy daggers.
