Meet Up

Cheryl's POV
"Hey baby," Toni says coming over during spare
"Hey Tones, what's up?"
"Can you officially meet the boys tonight?" She asks "they think I'm lying and it getting annoying,"
"Why not at school?"
"They both got suspended at lunch," she shrugs
I laugh and kiss her
"Of course Toni,"
"Uh Cheryl, What the hell?" Veronica asks
"Oh shit babe, I'm so sorry. I made plans with Ronnie like a week ago to go to the movies and have a sleepover," I sigh "what if we got lunch tomorrow to meet them?"
"Oh no problem, ya I'll ask them,"
"I'm so sorry,"
"It's alright babe, I don't care," she laughs "I do have to motor, I have a shift at the wyrme. Text me before you go to sleep?"
"Of course, make sure you're safe Tones,"
She nods and kisses me.
"Bye," She says
"Bye,"
She leaves and Ronnie and I go to her house.
"So Toni?" She asks
"She's so nice Ronnie,"
"It's just us now Cheryl, how did it happen?"
"She has problems at home and so do I. We were both at Pops at 2 am and I knew she was different than we started hanging out and I really like her,"
"And she asked you out?"
"Mhm,"
"And How was she on the date?"
"Surprisingly gentle and kind, she always made sure I was okay," I say "she even took my makeup off,"
"Why?"
"She said i was good looking without it,"
"That's actually really nice,"
"It's the first time someone has been really good at talking to me like I'm a person, and like not being intimidated by me- like you are good now but used to be scared of talking to me,"
"It's cause you're a bitch,"
"I know," I laugh
We go to the movie and then decide to go to Pops
"Girl that's the last time we watch horror,"
"Agreed," I laugh sipping my milkshake
We talk for a while before she looks at someone who walks in.
"Did you invite Toni?" She asks
"No," I say turning around
We make eye contact and her eyes go wide.
"Topaz, What's up?" Veronica asks
"S-Sorry Guys, I uh thought you'd be out," she says
"Are you okay babe?" I ask
"Oh, y-ya," she stutters "I got home and wasn't in the mood to deal with my dad so I was coming here,"
"You can sit with us," Ronnie says
"No I'm good, Pea has a shift at the wyrme in half an hour so I'll just go there. Enjoy your night, see you guys for lunch tomorrow?"
"Both Of us?" Ronnie asks
"Ya why not," she says "I'll text ya later babe,"
"Babe you look like your crying," I say
"No Cher, I'm fine," she says
She kisses my cheek and walks back outside
"That was weird," Ronnie says
"Very," I sigh "she seemed upset, no?"
"Ya a little,"
"Something must have happened at home,"
"Her dad's like your mom?"
"Worse," I sigh
"How could he be.." she says before stopping "no he doesn't,"
I nod and shrug
"She says it's only bad when he's drunk, high or on something," I sigh "I offered to do something, but she says she's trying to figure it out. I don't know tons about her family. She doesn't talk about it,"
"That's why she was here that night?"
"And that's why she always has bruises,"
We change the subject and go back to her house
I hope Tones is okay, she never texted me back.

Toni finally texted me back and she said her and the boys will meet us for lunch.
We drive there and Toni pulls in just after us.
"Hey Tones," I say as she kisses my temple "how did last night go?"
"Fine," she says "it's good to see you though,"
"You stayed with Pea?"
"Nah he had a girl over, I went home,"
"Babe," I say disapprovingly "you could've went to mine. Or texted and came to Ronnie's,"
"I was okay C, I promise,"
She has a black eye
That's why she's wearing those damn sunglasses
"Baby can I see your glasses?"
"Not today?"
"Yes today, give me your damn sunglasses,"
She takes them off and her eye is pretty much swollen shut.
"Babe, I'm so sorry. We have to get you out of that house,"
"I'm alright C, it's actually a win,"
"What do you mean?" I ask confused
"Well he's homophobic and he found out about us and all I got was a knock in the eye?" She says "that's amazing,"
"How'd he.."
"A guy at the wyrme was trying to.. take me back to his place and after me and Pea told him no," she sighs "then followed me home and I told him I had a girlfriend and he told my dad. Apparently they are friends,"
"I'm so sorry," I say
"Ya that's awful," Ronnie says
"I'm fine, let's just get a table,"
We go inside and wait for the boys.
"Hey Pea, Fangs," Toni says as the two boys walk in
"Topaz, you didn't grab your check last night," he says handing her an envelope
"They don't care that I get paid in cash," she sighs counting the bills
"Why would they pay you in cash?" Ronnie asks
"I'm not over 21 so technically I can't serve alcohol," Toni sighs looking back at Pea "bro this can't be all of it!"
"Did you break a glass?"
"No,"
"Here's the rest," Fangs says
"Asshole," she hisses
"Tones, you going to introduce us or just yell at them," I ask
"Right, Cher, Ronnie- these are my friends Fangs and Sweetpea,"
"Topaz, which one's your girl?"
"I'm dating Cheryl," she says annoyed
"Cheryl is.." he says
"The red head Sweetpea, I made that obvious,"
"Right," he says before turning towards Ronnie "Sweetpea," he winks
"She has a boyfriend Pea," Toni says
"Damn,"
"Nice to meet you," I say
"You too," Fangs says
He's quieter than Sweetpea
I think we'll be friends
