Hiccup was standing on the deck of his father's ship staring into the sea water, hoping to see a sign of the mermaid to appear.
He stared and stared into the waves until-
A head emerged from the ocean near the ship.
Hiccup stared at it.
The creature glared back at him.
Toothless shifted uncomfortably on the young man's shoulder.
Hiccup needed to get there, and talk to the mermaid. But for that he needed to do something really crazy.
He ran up to one of the boats and removed the ropes.The boat fell onto the ocean. Now he needed to get down. Oops.
Hiccup soon decided to jump into the sea and climb onto the boat without anyone noticing.
He jumped in with a loud splash.
The mermaid looked at him curiously.
Hiccup climbed onto the boata few moments later.
But- to his surprise, the mermaid swam up to him.
"Why'd you save me?" He asked the mermaid awkwardly.
"Why should i tell you that?" she hissed.
"No, I mean...Mermaids are counted as hostile creatures...No offence!" He said as he saw the look on her scaly face. She was about to swim away when-
"Wait! What's your name? I'm Hiccup."
"I-i'm Astrid" She said and she dissapeared in the waves instantly.
