Hey y'all! Sorry about the long wait, but this year has been a mess lmao. A good thing about this quarantine is that I have all the time in the world to write now, so expect more chapters coming! Stay safe!

"Need you all to just wait on me..."

"Amour? Shit, Amour!"

It hurts. It's hard to breathe.

"Oh my god, Amour! Fuck! You're okay. Hey look at me, it's Reese, I'm here."

I can't breathe.

"ISAIAH!"

There's red. Everywhere.

"What happened? What happened!"

"I–I don't know...he–he pushed me outta the way and–"

I can't breathe.

"Why are you just standing there! Call 9-1-1!"

I can't—

"Amour? Baby? Come on, please you can't leave me. You're okay, my love, you're okay."

I can't. I can't. I can't.

~~~
"I can't!" I scream, waking from my sleep.
"Amour?" Isaiah asks wearily, turning on the bedside lamp. "You good?"
"I can't breathe," I stress, trying to catching my breath.
My heart is racing so fast that I can't keep up. I sit up in a cold sweat, my body is shaking and my throat is dry. Gunshots still ring through my ears as I attempt to hold back the tears clouding my vision. There's no air in the room, it feels like I'm drowning and there's no escape.
"Amour, baby you're okay. Try to breathe. Count your breaths." Isaiah comforts, now wide awake.
I close my eyes and attempt to breathe in. I moment I shut my eyes everything starts flooding back. The blood, the sirens, the white tiles on the hospital ceiling. I can feel the IV's in my arm, the tubes in my nose, it's all too much. I can't breathe, it's too hot. I'm dying all over again.
Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop.
Isaiah goes to rub my back but I flinch away. I can't. I can't.
"Space," I manage to mumble as I move to get up. "I...I need...space..."
There's a worried look on Isaiah's face as I make my way to my bathroom, shutting the door and twisting the tap so cold water runs from the sink. I take a handful and splash it onto my face so I could cool down. It was too hot.
