Chapter 2

*YA POV*

Daniel and I still live in our parent's apartment. Since it is only a couple of doors down from May's and Peter's, it's not that big of a deal that we live in it. We inherited all of our parent's money they had in savings (a lot) so that's what's getting us by. I also work at a local ice cream shop, so that helps.

I unlock the apartment door and see Daniel laying on the couch playing Mario Kart.

"May I join?" I joke as I take a seat next to him.

"Nah." He hits Luigi with a turtle shell and crosses the finish line.

"Too bad." I grab a controller.

"Why are you always Yoshi?" Daniel rolls his eyes as he chooses Princess Daisy.

"Because Yoshi is the best. Why do you choose Daisy, huh?"

"Because her vehicle choices are better."

"Well that's one way at looking at things." I sit criss cross applesauce on the couch and we begin to play.

"So, you and Caroline?"

When he hears her name he drives off track. "Uh, what about her?"

"How did you meet? Who asked who out? How long has this been going on for? Is she-"

He pauses the game.

"Hey! I was winning!" I toss my controller down.

I look over at Daniel and he looks stressed.

Time to be a good sister.

"Daniel? Is everything okay?"

He nods and takes a deep breath. "She's in my Spanish class. We sit next to each other and became friends."

"That's cute! Does she love it when you call her señorita?"

That gets a small smile out of Daniel. "(Y/n)."

"Daniel?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Caroline and I aren't dating."

"Wait then why did you-"

Daniel begins to fidget with his hands.

"Daniel? You can tell me anything. You know that, right?" I scoot over to him and wrap my arm around him. He nods.

"I like guys (y/n)...Caroline is like my 'cover up'? She knows. She's like my best friend."

"Well that's smart." I laugh to myself. I smile at him. "I still love you so much, you know that right?" I raise an eyebrow.

He smiles and hugs me. "I love you, too."

"You know..." I begin. "It honestly makes sense." I rub his hair.

"Oh shut up."

"Wait, so are you and Miles-"

He grabs his controller and cuts me off. "I gotta a game to win." He un-pauses the game.

"Hey! THAT IS CHEATING YOU LITTLE SHIT!" I quickly grab my controller as Princess Daisy passes me.

"Gotta do what you gotta do to win." He winks and passes the finish line getting first place.
