Cinderpaw dropped to the ground, her ears pricked. She crept forward but a loose rock tumbled across the mountain,startling the rabbit she was stalking. "Mouse-dung" she hissed as the hare hopped away. Cinderpaw gave chase, her paws thudding on the sun baked rock. Cherryshade called after her, but the smokey gray apprentice gave no notice. Cinderpaw's chest heaved with effort and she pounding after the rabbit. Suddenly,the creature disappeared. Cinderpaw tried to stop herself from sliding over the cliff but she had been running to fast. she gripped to the ledge of the edge but the rock was cracking. Cherryshade appeared with a stick in her jaws,but it was to late. Cherryshade watched in horror as the rock cracked and Cinderpaw tumbled down to the ledge below.
