chapter one

hailey's pov

"sorry!"

i accidentally bumped into the third person today while spam texting and calling hannah and elmo.  i'm currently at the airport in LA waiting for them to come pick me up as they're the only people i know here.

it's officially vid-con season and it's my first time ever meeting all the people that support me here on tiktok!

"finally! where are you?" i exclaim as hannah had finally picked up!

"turn around!"

i gather my things rush towards the two, who had huge smiles on their faces.

hannah is my best friend. we live a 5 minute drive away from each other and go to the same school, we started tiktok and went viral together. i haven't seen her in three weeks since she spent them with elmo who lives here in LA.

before hannah, i was best friends with the infamous anthony reeves who just so happens to be going to vidcon too. until the sixth grade, we were inseparable! in middle school, things changed. he changed. i'm not sure why he decided to shut me out for no reason, i guess it still hurts me till this day.

the three of us took an uber to our shared hotel suite, and with two other tiktokers: avani gregg and sterling myers. we've all been kinda close on social media but this would be the first time meeting them in person.

elmo and hannah took the room with a queen bed while i unpacked my things in the second room with two bunk beds. around an hour later, sterling and avani had arrived and also unpacked. the five of us then sit in the kitchen and talk.

"i can't wait to finally meet everyone!" avani exclaims.

"especially payton right?" sterling says shoving avani as we all laughed.

we all have a group chat consisting of us, the guys and few others so we're all pretty close already.

we all then started to get ready for day 1 of vidcon. i finished early and began to scroll on tiktok. i saw anthony on the for you page with the video of him and payton lip syncing to a sound that made all the girls comment: 🤰

anthony did that thing he always does with his tongue, which made me uncomfortable but kind of turned on at the same time. even though i kind of hate him right now, i still find him so undeniably hot!

we don't follow each other on any socials and i don't think we've ever liked each other's content either.

"i think we're all set" sterling announces as everyone agrees.

we leave the hotel room and make our way to the venue which was only a block away. we participate in all the vidcon venue activities and make tiktoks, take photos and meet many new influencers.

elmo gets a text which tells us where payton + the group were sitting, since it had to be somewhere away from where fans could find them.

we make our way over without getting seen by fans.

"look who's here!" jackson hollers.

the guys were already with benji, jorge, talia and syd who were also on the group chat. we were all greeted with hugs and it was so nice to finally get to see them! the only person i didn't talk to or hug was anthony, who just so happened to be apart of their group. anthony and i looked at eachother for a few seconds, then looking away.

"who's hungry? josh and noen are paying!" benji exclaims.

"no we're not!"

"you are now"
