Calvin and I are in a relationship for at least a year now. What changed? Well, maybe a bit mature than when we just started but.... not that mature as you think.
New year. Hmm... what do we usually do?
Based on what I read in books and manga, couples usually spend time together and celebrate the new year (same as Christmas) but in our case, it's a little bit different.
We spent the time together a day before the New Year's Eve. We went hiking using our savings to celebrate our anniv too. (See? We're this practical and kuripot. Haha.) We explored the place and just enjoyed eachother's company.
We didn't spend the night.... of course!
Though we're dating for this long, and given our legal age, we both agreed to respect each other until it is the right time.
Yet (of course) I won't deny that I also have thought of things I should not think (you know what I mean). Eh sino ba naman ang 100% malinis ang utak noh? But! I'm doing my best to cleanse my mind and soul. Mahirap na. Hehe...
Fireworks started to light the sky. I enjoyed the sight. (naks naman) Takot ako sa paputok kaya I stayed inside.
"Chibs, tumalon ka ba kanina?" tanong ni Calvin.
Tumawag siya for us to talk over the phone.
"Hoy. Nang-iinis ka ba ha? " bwisit talaga to.
"Chibs, who knows tumangkad ka kahit millimeters lang?" sabi niya. Dinig ko pa yung tawa. Tsk.
"Huwag ka ng umasa dahil forever na akong magiging cute noh."
"Ayaw mong maging maganda?"
"Tsk. Binibwisit mo ang New Year alam mo?"
"Hahahaha New Year na New Year ang init ng ulo mo. Natamaan ka ba ng paputok ha?"
"Ikaw gusto mong matamaan sakin ha?"
"Hahaha pikon. Talo ka na. Libre mo ko sa susunod."
"Ha?! At bakit hindi ako aware sa pustahan na to?"
Tinawanan niya lang ako sa kabilang linya. Wait — lasing ba to?!
"Cal? Uminom ka noh?"
"Ha?" there was a long pause. "Ah....sorry. Napasobra yata. Hehe... galit ka?"
"Hay.... bakit ako magagalit? Kung pinapayagan ka ni Tita Maribel na uminom ba't naman kita pipigilan? And besides it's a celebration and kasama mo naman ang family mo eh. It's okay.... for now. Pero kapag wala sa tamang—"
He continued. "Pero kapag wala sa tamang lugar, tamang oras at rason para uminom, I shall not drink more than I can handle. Yes. Naaalala ko ang promise ko sayo, teach."
"Very good! Bibigyan kita ng star dahil diyan!"
"Hahaha! Hay naku... Happy New Year, Chibs!"
"Happy New Year, bee!"
"Wanna know my wish this year?"
"Hm? Okay."
"I wish that you will stay with me for the next years to come. Will you say yes?"
Wha—what?! It's a simple statement but can be interpreted differently. Tsk. And why does it sound like a proposal?!
"Hoy, Chibs!"
"Ah—ha?"
"Your answer?"
Answer? Wait— ano nga ulit yung tanong?! Teka— ba't ba ang init ng pisngi ko? Nilalagnat ba ako? Ha? Haaa?! Hoy, Cee! Umayos ka! Huwag kang OA!!!
I inhaled deep and answered. "Hm. Okay."
I heard his deep sigh on the other line. "Thanks." He said.
Eeeee!
Lord, ngayon lang ako kinilig ng ganito. Shet— ay sorry. Hehe...
